I am not an active member on this site, but I was referred to it after a man from California ripped me off on SVTPerformance.com - another Mustang board. I am a very active member on SVTPerformance with right around 1,000 posts and (33) trader feedback.

On September 25th, I send $566 to Josh Courtway ("64VALVES" on SVTPerformance) for these stock 03-04 Cobra parts parts he was selling... Eaton with pulley, throttle body and plenum, injectors, mass air flow sensors, and heat exchanger. He and I exchanged several Private Messages in which we came up with an agreement on how much he would sell me the parts for.

After I paid him, he sent me a private message saying that he would ship out the parts by Friday, that would be 09-28-07. On 10-02-07 he sent me another message saying that he had been super busy and the parts would be shipped tomorrow or the next day. This was the last time I have heard from him. I have sent him 6-7 messages asking if the parts had been shipped. He didn't respond to any of them. On 10-12-07 I filed a complaint with Paypal telling them that I thought he was ripping me off. Paypal didn't find that there was enough evidence to start a case against him, so they closed the dispute immediately. I have not heard from him since any of this happened.

If any of you guys know Josh or have any other ideas on how I can get my money back, I would appreciate it. He posts quite a bit on here, so I thought someone may know him. Here is the info I have on him...

why not? he is ripping people off?

On another not can't you compile all this info fom the various websites and copies of pm's and e-mail and turn them in to paypal? Is it past the time allowed for a dispute? I would be on them everyday.

What good do they do? You already got his name, paypal account, possible email, log in names, and I'm sure his myspace has a picture or him and probably his car. His address and phone# have nothing to do with a sale, unless you plan on mailing him cash or a check, and you're asking to get screwed if you do that. Just my opinion. Maybe I'll send him and his family a christmas card!

man sorry to hear about that shit. if uhavent received your item yet,u should be able to dispute it w/ paypal. now if u had received the item in poor condition then u would have a difficult case to open a dispute against the seller.

this punk had scammed another board member on here weeks ago and still has the nerve to continue to post as if nothing happened. folks, i dont know y u would try to defend one who has repeatedly scammed ppl on more than one board.
one time is enough to say fuck it and take this to the local police to go after his ass...looks like u have all the info u need. i still cant believe how blatant this guy has gone off scamming ppl leaving his info out there just begging to get busted.

Do a paypal dispute. They will snatch the funds instantly. Then do a investigation then if he wins he gets funds back. But I believe you get them back instantly.

Josh, hopefully you get this together man. You seem to have formed a pattern of doing this. Some people take their money very seriously. You could get hurt doing this type of stuff to people. Hope you resolve this. I to agree his address and number should not have been put in this thread.

they will return the money as long as the funds are in the paypal account. if not, you're SOL. there are some threads in the mach and svtperformance forum for members who had gotten screwed by this guy and when they disputed, paypal sided w/ the buyer but since no funds were available no money could be returned.

this dude serious gots a problem. friend or not, a scammer is a scammer and he needs to be delt with. epich, understood u know him but dude has been scamming ppl on the boards and u can't deny that. we kinda treat this site as a family(well kinda) and when we see this type of shit, it gets ppl irate.

aahh..ok I didnt know that about paypal. Well one thing you can bet on is that doing this Josh will get got at faster than karma can catch up to him. 500 bucks is a lot of money. I have seen folks get ignorant over 50.00 but 500.00 I know some cats that will head bust for that. He may run into one of those guys eventually. I am now a firm believer that this guy is a thief. Not that he should care what I think, I just know I wont do business with him. But I hope he makes right with some of these issues for his sake.

Sucks to hear this.. I kind of had an idea he was like this. I was trying to get some gears off him and we'd talk, but he'd never return my calls. I finally gave up. I was never out any money, but I could have been had I paid up front.

Now I'm always weary about buying parts unless it's from eBay or something

I have had a similar experience with the same guy, last year I went way out to sac to buy a complete dry nitrous kit that he verified several times would work on a 2003 gt, I went out there and picked it up, when I got home, I realized after looking at the kit for a while that the bottle was not currently certified (off by several years), and there was no way that it would work for a new modular engined mustang. The kit was very incomplete and was pretty much thrown away due to a stuck solenoid and other broken parts. Part of it was my fault, by paying for that, but at the time I didn't know enough to tell if it was right within the five minutes that I was there. Kinda of a shady thing to do to a new member at the time.

based on this dude's track record of multiple ppl claiming theyve been scammed by him, who would u believe at this point? only ppl backing him up are his friends while the rest of us dont dismiss the truth and see the obvious.

more than one person has come forward w/ details across several boards yet this person continues to post as if nothing has happened. shit..he still hasnt resolved the issue w/ the mach 1 grill and the owner of this site has even offered to help fix things. u think ppl have a lot of time to make false claims of ppl scamming?

Troll hunters is a website that has helped tons of people on the tech boards resolve their issues with scammers or trolls. I would also suggest to contact the local police of Rancho Cordova to get the ball rolling.

yup and "Birds of a feather flock together"...And they hold water for the most part. But being a friend and a accomplice is a bit diff. I have a friend till this day is huge in the game. And I would trust him with my life and family and consider him my best friend. But me being my own man, know that to be his friend I dont have to be slangin and bangin. We respect each other that way.

Anyway, I wouldnt lump Epik in there with him as he has done nothing to warrant that. But I dont want to get flamed just saying, let it be about homie who wronged folks. Not his friends, moms, pops or his Aunts cousins Uncle that married the next door neighbor.

Before I got that information, the only way I could contact you was through Private Messaging on SVTPerformance and through the paypal email you gave me. Well, this isn't the only occasion where I have been ripped off in the past few months. That is one of the reasons I am trying to get my money back here. I am out around $1,600 in total. I guess I just ran into some bad apples lately. I do a ton of business on SVTPerformance and I have never had trouble. I guess I started to trust people too much [Roll Eyes]
