I was watching g4 and they were mentioning a interview with the CEO of Square Enix. And it was hinted that FFXIII will no longer be an exclusive title! If that happens stick a fork in the PS3. Sony is slowly but surely losing ground and by losing its exclusive titles only ensures its demise. You guys may wanna grab your 360's now.

Oh I am not a PS3 hater as I have one....As do I have a dreamcast. I seen this same thing coming with the dreamcast. I think PS3 days may be numbered.

And why is that going to take down the PS3? If I could get every single game made and play them on either system I'd still take the PS3. There's no way I'm going to deal with the red ring of death. I know a few people haven't had the problem but thousands have. I haven't seen any problems with the PS3. Take the total number of people that have had problems with the Sony system and its far less than the number of people that have had good luck with the 360.

Lazy, just deal with it like everyone else has. Its the better system hands down. You'd rather take a system that is completely garbage and has no game selection whatsoever over a system that is far superior in fun factor and game selection due to a problem that many people have fixed and moved on with. Sounds like you're to lazy to get it fixed, either that or you're not a real gamer.
I'm sorry but it seems stupid to me to get a system just because it doesn't have any of the known problems you've been experiencing. I could understand if they both had the same exact game selection and fun factor, but you go ahead and get your ps3 nd see how much you actually play it when it is working. Fix your damn xbox 360 and join the fam.

Basically the PS3 will become a after thought. The
Playstation franchise was synonymous with titles like GTA FF and others. With those titles leaving and the developers themselves breaking out. It just makes the ps3 less palatable and prone to Dreamcasts fate (tho not in the foreseeable future). Even with all its issues, I'll still take a 360 over a PS3 (and I own both). It's pretty much unanimous that 360 is defining nextGen games. PS3 has a lot of catching up to do. And when you lose your exclusives it makes it that much harder. I havent played mine in several months. Every since I had Spiderman for both 360 and PS3. The 360 version kicked the PS3 version in the nuts.

Lazy? How exactly am I lazy? I don't have a 360 any more. I had it for a couple months and sold it after I got my PS3. No, I never got the red ring of death but it did lock up on me quite a bit. I didn't get the PS3 just because it had less issues, I got it because I didn't have one yet. I've had every single system out at one point or another. I guess you have a good point though..... its a lot of fun to buy a new game, have the system go into melt down and you sit by for 3 weeks with your thumb up your ass waiting to get it fixed..... nice. You can look at the back of the box with some cool 80's 3D glasses on and pretend your playing it!! You could even buy 2 systems and hope the second one will keep working till the first one gets back from melt down repair!! The only one having real fun with the 360 is the UPS guy picking up and delivering it.
As for fun factor with the PS3, yeah its lacking better games. I personally hate the look of gears of war and haven't gotten into halo. I had a lot of fun playing the GTA rip off the 360 had but wouldn't trade my PS3 for a 360, ever.

u dont have to wait when u buy a warranty genious
A half an hour of my time to exchange it and get right back online is all it took. Enjoy your PS3 bro, sounds like you dont like any of the popular titles or any of the fun games so Ps3 is your best bet.

The PS3 has a lot of support and showed a lot of promise in it's release but the games haven't been up to par.
The PS3 online gaming experience can't even hold a candle to Xbox live in terms of multiplayer action first-person games. I mean we got Halo, G.o.w, COD 4, Forza 2 etc. Shit Gran Turismo is STILL on hold.
Me personally I don't like the FF series. Too cartoony for me now but I loved it when I was younger.
And I love how people say "the PS3 has BLU-RAY". But on Black Friday I saw HD players going for $150 and I'm not going to spend on $400 on a gaming system that has a HD player when Blu-Ray + HD combo players will drop in price by this Summer.
And whenever my red rings happen I'm buying an HDMI xbox.

Great quote from one of the links above.
quote:
The Wii is the antithesis of the Xbox 360. It's strictly for hardcore gamers. The attachment rate for the Xbox 360 is much higher than for the Wii. People who buy the 360 really like games... I think the current trend is that most people aren't buying the Wii as a game machine, but as a toy... It seems that Sony isn't sure what it wants to do. Is it making high-end electronics or a game console for gamers? I want them to clearly define their console. quote:

Also I had read that HD is outselling/performing blu ray. So the early adopters to blu ray may be like the early adopters of the laser disc ....lol.
But yea man, I am still not selling my ps3 tho, but I am one of those freaks that still has and plays his dreamcast for street fighter and my n64 for Killer Instinct. So I adore all video games. But for the casual gamer 360 or Wii is the way to go.
For the youngins this is what a laserdisc is

lol laserdisc. I remember that. its funny a dvd can hold way more than a huge ass laserdisc. Shit looks a record, lol.
I'm definately coping x-boxs hd dvd add on or I may go with a stand alone hd dvd player. I wish they would make the hd-dvd add on in black to go with my elite 360.

As a owner of both platforms I must say that the PS3 get way more playing time. Due in large part to the 360 having to be sent in for service. It is currently sitting under the TV in non working mode(red ring)...
X-Box does have Halo and I feel it is bar far one of the best games for online action. As for your other games listed I dont know to much about, but I do know that PS3 also has COD4. Oh and I so cant wait until SOCOM comes out for PS3.
I Think a lot of the problem with the PS3 and its games are the processor. Many developers are still trying to learn its full potential. Most games that are capable of 1080p output only use around 20% of it's capability.
As for the Black Friday deals on HD Players going for $150, that is just a waste of money. Blu-ray has been selling HD-DVD by like 6/1 and will only continue to do better. HD-DVD will be gone in a year IF THAT... Yeah a HD-DVD for $150 sounds great, but if you cant get movies for it cause they no longer make them what good will it do.
I hear you can get a Laser Disc player for $5 on Ebay, be my guest...
P.S. Sorry for the bad grammer, and spelling!!!

What's funny is that people keep hanging on to PS3 having Blu-Ray and all that when it should be a GAMING CONSOLE. The 360 came out with HD DVD as an attachment yet still concentrates on it's games unlike Sony.
If the PS3 didn't have Blu-Ray the people that bought the console at $600+ wouldn't have anything to stand on. With the price of COMBO HD/Blu-Ray players dropping every month, it doesn't really matter what format wins.
And what happened to GT4? Shit Xbox has all the games PS3 has except for that even Forza 1 AND 2 came out before GT4 got pushed back again.

Where did you get your info? It looks like blue ray was but hd-dvd is now outselling due to the fact that some studios are only going out on hd.

yea blu ray, has been gettin whooped for a while. Not sure where your info came from either. ALso PS3 has more issues than the processor. I was a game developer for capcom years back and I can tell you, Sony is real dysfunctional in their approach. Developers couldnt wait until exclusive titles went hollywood. Telling you that is a huge hit to PS3 to lose FF, GTA, Gran Turismo and others.
But being a ps3 owner as well I hope they get it together so I dont have a 400 dollar book end.

I have a first edition Xbox360 no ring of death or scratched disks.
I also own a BluRay and HD-DVD player and I can say that at times I hate BluRay. The picture between the two is equal depending on what your watching but the sluggishness of BluRay just starting a movie really pisses me off! HD-DVD starts up and plays a movie just as fast as a regular DVD player.

First off, I own both systems. The original Xbox 360 (which still has no red ring knock on wood) and the Original PS3 60 gig. I have had equal game time with both systems.
I felt I was a PS3 fan because I got that before the Xbox360. I was playing Splinter Cell, Fight Night Round 3, Nascar '08, Call of Duty 3, Fear, NBA 2k7, Armored Core 4, Motorstorm, and Resistance Fall of Man, and Warhawk. I also use the Blu Ray feature often. I also use it as an upconvert for DVD's.
For my Xbox360 I play Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, World Series of Poker, and Gears of War. I seem to play Gears and COD4 most frequently. Once again still no ring.
The pros for Xbox 360 (in my opinion):
- Xbox Live features are user friendly and software companies utilze this for contests and tournaments often
- Updates are easy and quick to download
- Demos and downloads are much quicker than the Ps3. there is no download then install. It is just a one step process
- Better software titles
The pros for PS3 (in my opinion):
- Playstation Network is free of charge
- Blu Ray player is built in
- Games are in Blu Ray Disc format which has a bigger capacity
- Online play, such as Warhawk can play up to 32 players online at once
The Cons for Xbox:
- Xbox Live costs money
- The red light thing for some
- HD DVD player is extra
- Online players limited to 18 (as far as I know)
The Cons for PS3
- Software titles are limited
- Download process is too long because of the two step process
- Playstation Network is bland and without substance
Regardless of all the Pros and Cons of both systems. It is about the Software. Call of Duty 4 came out and I have heard nothing but good things on both systems. Halo 3 came out for 360 and if it came out for the PS3 it would be just as good if not better. Same for Resistance fall of Man. Exclusive titles are becoming extinct on both systems because the Software companies can get more money from all systems. I have to be honest, I have been playing my 360 more just because I have Call of Duty 4 on that system. It would be the other way around if I got it for the PS3. I say screw both systems for taking all of my money.
Check out this title that will be coming soon on both systems.
