My buddy disconnected and reconnected his battery and check engine came on he pluged in his sct tuner and checkd what it was and P1000 came up it says: P1000 Monitor Check Not Comp what exactly is that???

the computer has to run self monitors and when the battery power is lost it clears the monitors, self test, tell him to take it on a long drive at least 60 miles and re check

A P1000 will not turn the CEL on. Id try using a scantool, rather than a tuner, to see what other DTC's are there.
