Whats up mustang lovers so Im looking for new members for the stang up fam car club. We started in Oakland last year and now we have 3 different chapters, bay area, nor cal, and central. Im the nor cal leader I live in elk grove I grive a 2001 silver mustang GT. We are looking for new members from the Sac area. There is no cost to join, we are here to have fun hang out and be positive. I dont want any negitive, or drama. We dont talk down to other members. I do that all the time but not to people who have 22s or 24s on a mustang. Thats not a clean look for a Mustang. 20s are the max in my opinion.

Its all in the attitude. You seem cool and if your crew has a positive attitude then I'm sure you'll earn respect. Just like anything, image is everything and a lot of people that run the overly huge wheels represent sideshows or just plain stupid behavior. While some people on here drive like idiots, a large majority of us get together and just cruise or hang out. We have had dipshits show up at our car shows or cruises and do retarded shit that can get people hurt, cars damaged, make the cops come or all three of these. N8, these Cafords clowns hate on 22's and 24s everyday because they KNOW some of those 24s cost more then their rides.

Dude had a valid point of interest, asked for no negativity and not to mention his post count indicated he was kinda new. If there was a performance ben. from it then I'm sure a number of people here would do it. Clearly there is no performance benifit, actually to me it looks unsafe. Otherwise to each his own. I could really care less if those wheels are on a mustang or a pinto.

How many people that HATE those wheels on mustang have an SUV with low profile tires and 26"+ rims? You know what I'm talking about. They are everywhere now. Shit, dealers selling them like that. I personally wouldn't buy it....again, looks unsafe and considering the weight of an suv and the size of some of these side walls, even the smallest pot hole can take that fucker out.

There are other cars too like the new chargers and chryslers with huge huge wheels and tiny low pro tires....where do you buy a replacement tire like that lol?

Any way that is just me. Do I like the look? no. But I can't judge the person behind the wheel because of the rims he has on his car. You break THAT down far enough and you have a whole nother debate on a deeper level.

I like it here, I even take the shit talk with a grane of salt and laugh at it. When its at my expence I don't care. There are some people that cross the line...in this thread I don't think any line was crossed just opinions thrown out...which wasn't the posters intent but it did happen as with 99% of threads here.

Ok so I was the one that posted the add. No I dont have 22's or 24's on my stang. I have a silver 2001 mustang GT with 18's. Im not about the show. I try to put parts on my car that make it go faster. My car looks very stock thats because I put my money in the engine. I will be out at sac raceway this wed. So if you like running your mouth way dont you come out and run your car. Hey I would like to see what it can do. Ok yea some of our bay area members have 22's 24's on there car and thats who they are. Very few have a V6. We also have cobra's roushes, and GT's. It's so funny to me that all I asked was for positive people and look at what I got. I cant believe that there are so many dumb ass people that are that bored with there life's that all they have time to do it talk down to other people just to make them selfs feel better. ive sat back and read this entire thread atleast twice and all i could do is shake my head in disaproval. Our nor-cal leader posted an honest thread in hopes of maybe finding a few ford mustang owners who wouldnt mind coming out to ride with other stangs and meet some new people. But he was met with immature jokes and criticism, yes we are all entitled to our opinions and views...hell even i believe 22's on a stang is not my taste....for a V8 that is. So, if someone does donuts in a mustang they are in the hypy movement or gay?

Have you ever done a donut before? It's actually a lot of fun... a great way to let off some steam and have some fun when you are gonna trash a worn set of rubber with a smoke show. (when no longer streetable)

Think about this... when you go to a car show, if you see a custom mustang that is all dressed up with a professional sound system, do you knock them because it's something different? You can not like it all day long, but to generalize things like larger tires or donuts into a general category just because you don't like it.... wow.

Hell, for awhile an 18 inch rim was considered to be a big rim... funny how times are a changin. Look at alot of the custom/speciality 05+ mustangs that are coming out... a good deal of them have 20's on them.

Well I seem to experience different here. And everyone is entitled to their opinion. Like I think tubbing a stang to put those wide ass tires on there is plain comical too. Or flaring fenders to do so. But very few talk shit about that. Because that is the overall consensus of this board that, that is cool. One collective thought. But I do agree with the over sized wheel, but when a person comes here with a valid posts and tries to put together something good, and dumb asses only peak in to drop idiotic one-liners. I think it over all gives the cafords community a blackeye. But I got love for all even ya'll with bullitts and fr's. Just let up on members with a diff style. Bust on CL ads all day. i look at that as a performance modification though. The wider the rear tires the more traction your going to get and the better quarter mile you will receive from your car.
I don't think our opinions change the overall view of cafords. If he made the same post on Corral or another mustang site and only posted pics of mustangs lifted with 24s he would receive the same thing. He would get people going "gross" and people going "thats different, cool"

see thats the thing, not everyone is into performance. Like me for instance. If I have 5k to spend I would drop it all on paint, beat and interior. I just like my car to look and run good. I doubt I will ever see a track or race anyone. So that to me is ridiculous to put all that crap on until your car is a road hazard. Then complain about smog laws. It is just plain stupid. But I dont bag on folks that do. I just figure "hey thats what floats their boat". And go about my biz. But some folks tend to throw around opinions and I have no idea why that bothers me but it does. But like I said overall I just admire the thought and workmanship that goes into any custom ride. Just some things arent for me.

Not to sound all cheesy and shit, but bag on cl ads not members rides or their club rides. Unless they say "hey ya'll check out my ride what do you think?"

well it all depends on your taste with big rims... shit i dont want all my cars looking the same so i switched them all up..... so when im feeling so called hyphy i have a f150 on 22's and a 70 cutlass on 22's and then when im feeling lowrider i got 67 cougar on 18" spokes..and then when im feeling the muscle car i got a 68 mustang on 17's. when im feeling undercover i get into a another stock f150. [Wink]

i really dont care what other people do with there cars.

I was gonna stay out of this post but this is gettin way out of hand.... 1st of all Stang Up Fam, welcome to CAFORDS. I never actually met any of u cats, but I went on the Half Moon Bay cruise a while back & I was driving the Torch Red 03 Mach that led the stangs from Martinez to Pleasenton, & I also saw some of your members at the car show....Now like most of the people on here, Im not a fan of the big rim hype either, but I can see that not everyone in Stang Up Fam has 22's or 24's. But I can see that alot of your members take pride in their cars & have a love for Mustangs, & thats all that matters.....

I love puttin money into my stang to make it perform better like most of the people on this board, but I would rather have my car lookin good first & foremost...I have 2 stangs & neither of mine are anywhere near being the fastest on this board, but both of mine are clean & look nice.... I would rather have a 200hp car with shiny paint, nice wheels, & a good stance, than a 400hp car with slicks & skinnies & primer....But thats just me!!!! To each there own, RIGHT???

Anyway, to sum up my post, although some of Stang Up's rides arent my style, I like the way they roll since they are about diversity, positivity, & love for Stangs.....

EPIK i remeber you, i was the candy red stang that was following you on that half moon bay run i made sure to stay on your tail because im very bad with directions. and yea the song on our page we love it! were trying to support xperimental and get him out there as best we could. if you have anyother tracks for us to feature we'd love to get em on there, the fam tries to support up and coming artists as well as graphic designers, photographers etc...we can all network to help eachother out!

EPIKMACH summed up my feelings and for the most part most of the members on the board that I have met personally. "To each his own". It is more about the integrity of the person and the club. It more about representing stangs positively IMO.

And I am not sure how Oakland always seems to be brought into everything, but wtf.

Oh and all my stangs (4) are v8s. I cannot do a v6 or a 4cyl. But I pretty much leave my stuff stock and go for the looks and sound. Not interest in racing at all so those customizations (racing) dont appeal to me.
