Seconds after killing a 21-year-old father during a suspected home-invasion robbery on Friday, two suspects fired a bullet into the head of the man's 7-month-old son who was seated in a car seat, police said this weekend as they released new details on the case.

Investigators initially reported that the father, Sean Paul Aquitania, was killed inside a home after an attempted robbery and that his infant son, Sean Paul Aquitania Jr., was accidentally caught in the crossfire. But a more thorough investigation throughout the weekend determined that the son had been murdered execution-style in the car seat of his dad's Chevrolet Malibu.

"We are angered as law enforcement officers and disturbed as human beings that anyone could commit such an unconscionable act against an innocent child," said sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran.

Authorities are still searching for the suspects, Curran said.

Aquitania — who had tattoos of his baby's hand and footprint on his forearms — drove to a home on Country Greens Court shortly before 2 p.m. Friday to visit friends. He left the infant in the car and went to the front door. Two young men answered, and two other men ran up and forced their way inside, Curran said.

A melee erupted, and Aquitania received at least two bullets in the upper body. The two suspects ran away, stopping to shoot the baby. No one else was injured, Curran said.

A 24-year-old man inside the house ran to his car and drove to get help, Curran said, and a 21-year-old man ran out of the house, scooped the baby out of the car and went door to door looking for help.

A school bus driver saw the 21-year-old man and the baby, opened the doors and held the dying infant, Curran said. The baby was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 5:15 p.m.

That shit could be as minor as the dad cut them off on the freeway or somehting lame. People be carefull and aware of your surroundings...I"D NEVER JUST LEAVE MY KID IN THE CAR!!! EVER!

My wife wont even pull into our street if antoher car is behind her she'll circle the block...I do the same thing. FUCK THAT!

thats a good point...but something like this is on a personal level, or retaliation.... Random acts of violence or shootings dont go that far.

That was to make a point or really get back at some1. I Bet u its personal and whoever did it was in someway affiliated with him....even if that proves true, a defenseless 7month old child

Man if they catch the dude that shot the kid (and I hope they do). He is gonna get it in prison. And I hope it gets it the worst way. Absolutely no reason to shoot the child. I cant think of no revenge that is worth killing a 7 month old baby.

My girlfriends mom lives out in sac and was telling us about this yesterday. It really brings your heart to a low point hearing about a baby getting killing. He is a sick fuck. I hope this man suffers.

this just goes to show how the world is going to hell in hand basket. at 7 months the baby couldn't ever id any one. i hope they catch the bastard that did this, cause when he goes to jail the inmates will take care of him.

something I don't understand is there is NO description of the two men. There were two men in the house but did they even give a description, and all these gun shots at least three and no one saw anything...get away car, people running? And if there is any of this info why doesn't the public get it so we can keep our eyes peeled. fuckin lame

ya that was some crazy chit , i feel bad for the mom of the kid she lost her baby daddy and her baby , and on top of that a couple days ago a guy that i know got shot 4 times in the chest walking out the front door of his work , and nobody knows why if it was personal or a robbery cuz he has a foxbody and the guy that shot him smashed off in his own foxbody

Sean Paul was stand up guy, i met him once through a friend of mine and i remember how much he loved his son (jr)....

I just got done watching this story "DVR'd the new's" and I felt so bad for the babies mother , just could never imagine something like that happening to one of Your own. Like everyone said these guy's deserve to be punished in the cruelist way's known to mankind. I am talking about torturing these fucker's for Year's before letting that Mom end those worthless pieces of shit anyway She chooses.
