Listened to both albums last night. Kanye's is definately better. Very nicely put together. 50's sounds like the old shit with a mix of fruitiness. Kanye stepped it up a notch with the beats and lyrics. IMO Kanye wins this one record sales or not. I like both, but Kanyes might be a classic. What do you guys think?

Kanye ****.5
50 ***

Most musicians have 'issues'. In fact its usually the best ones that have the worst of them. I'm not condoning Kanye's ego, all I care about is the music. He's a perfectionist can't knock em for that. He makes great music and you can't deny that either.

i didnt care much for kanye at first bc he talks to much about white people and that crap its time to get over that shit and just adds to racism in my opinion but overall he has skills and i like most of his stuff i like his new stuff more then past and havent heard albums yet but from songs on radio and knowing 50 cents shit always sounds the same just adds new words knew kaynes would be better

Yes it is. It is mainstream, I know, but yes it is rap/hip-hop.

Dont get me wrong I love my underground bay area music and listen to up and coming artist all day long, but I also keep an open mind and listen to EVERYTHING from (classical-rap) even mainstream. Put aside your likes and dislikes and just listen. Your ears can't deny good music [Wink]

I dont care too much about the person outside of their music. If a artist is good at what he or she does thats all that matters to me. Besides everyone has some type of hang-up in one way or another right? As for my pick, from the little that I have heard from each LP, I would pick Kanye as well. Very good production, and his lyrics are written well. He has very good metaphors and punch lines. I also like his delivery better. Just my 2 cents...

Exactly. I could care less about him as a person. He is only famous for his music. lets talk music [Whoo Whooooo!]

I prefer Kanye over 50 any day. 50 is only good if Eminem is on the track with him and even then I fast forward through 50. His rapping never matches his beats IMO.

And who cares about Kanye's issues... its about the music not the person.

Do you listen to rap? If you do listen to his new cd and try to forget how you fill about him personally, the cd is one of the best cd's i heard in a while.

And also kanye killed 50 on 106&park last night and had the whole crowd shouting his name when him a 50 came out together.

Most definetly! Kanye has skills and is VERY talented, he's not with that baller/killing/cars/hoes slang, he actually talks about real-life scenarios, but 50 cent on the other hand, he can blow on cow balls!

Kanye all the way even though some of his recent video appreances weren't that professional but hey, everyone makes mistakes!

I would agree its definately one of the best albums Ive heard in a while, & me being a music producer myself, I usually listen to the beats 1st. the beats on this album are next level & I would give them an 8 out of 10...Lyrically its off the hook too.

I know most of u arent gonna feel me, but I would much rather listen to what rappers like Kanye, Nas, Mos Def ,& Common are bringin to the table rather than most of the negative, meaningless, bs u hear on the radio nowadays...

I agree 100% Kanye's new album is back to his old route. Bringing back to a plain simple REAL hip-hop emcee. I recently seen a interview where he talks about how he was always about hip-hop from the beginning and then got caught in the fame, money, bling, mainstream rap from his last album...He said he's trying to find the real side of hip-hop again with this album. I give props to common, NAS, mosdef, now kanye for trying to keep the real hip-hop alive with real issues and staying clear of mainstream BS. I wouldn't consider 50cent, eminem, rick ross, T.I., FAB, E-40, Pack, etc. even in the same category as hip-hop. Mainstream is good hooks, catchy coarse, a catchy beat, cussing, and flashy lyrics while hip-hop is a complete opposite. my 2cents

I beleive thats based on the fact that thats a good club song. Catchy hook and basic beat. Sampled from a old Cassidy song.

You obviously do not know your hip hop history, It is actually sampled from a group called audio 2 and the original name of the song is Top Billin

Yeah i listen to rap but not as much as i used to, its mostly crap now. Kanye West music sucks, none of his popular songs have ever been good in my book. Thats my opinion and i doubt his new CD will change that.

The hook is sampled from top billin, but the drums are ripped right off of Cassidys song too....

Now I support all types of music, including mainstream hip hop, but I get tired of all this nursery rhyme BS & songs being considered tight just because they bump in the club or on the radio.... The reason why these songs get so much play is because people dont know how to think for themselves & they only think something is hot if its on the radio or MTV etc....Most of this music thats out nowadays isnt gonna be considered timeless music like music of the past.....

+1,Flashin lights & Good morining are my favorites, but honestly i like all of em except one or 2 trax....
Most albums nowadays its the other way around, I usually like 2 or 3 trax & the reast of the album will be weak...
