I get off work at 3:30pm hit the freeway then a new pontiac whips out in front of me tossing a rock right into my windshield and cracks it. I about had a fit. About 30mins later the 1 inch crack has grown to 5 inches I'm just about ready to blow up when BAM another rock same car right in the middle of my windshield and yet again ANOTHER CRACK. [Frown] I think I used every cuss word in the book at the guy. Worst part when I get to a autoshop to get a windshield repair kit I must have stepped on a sticker in the parking lot then onto a piece of paper so I'm walking around the store with what looks like toilet paper hanging off my shoe and the girl who sold me the kit was CUTE.

Somedays it's best to stay home in bed and hide from the world.

What kid did you buy at a parts store to fix a crack in a windshield? I know you can fix chips but a crack? [Confused]

Yep they have a kit that fixes Cracks less then 12 inches long also does Chips, Star cracks, and straight cracks. I'll grab the box tomorrow and post the name of the kit. It does work just takes time and alittle work to get the glue into the crack. It might not go totaly away but it does stop them from getting bigger.

I just had to get My windshild replaced and the dealer told Me $1600 buck's so I called a mobile glass company and for $300 buck's they put a new windshield and new wiper's on for Me [Big Grin] . I asked the moblie guy what the difference was between the windshield He installed and the dealer's windshield and He told Me that the dealership would have called out a mobile company to do the work & same windshield and made 1300 buck's for making one phone call:eek: . Sad thing is that if I had full glass coverage I would have probably just had the dealership do it & shit like this just raises all of our insurance rates [BS flag] .

I had to put one in my ex's 95 GT a while back. I found a used factory Ford windshield off craigslist for $30 and the guy put it in with a new seal for $50. He showed up in a professional glass company truck so I trusted him and it worked out great.

You know all the pesky glass companies that call and say they will be in your area and can replace your windshield. Alot of times they will pay your deductable [Smile] I had my 91 windshield replaced for free when I finaly decided to talk with one of the companies when they called.

Starlite Glass. Ford wanted $800+ for my F350, paid $150 at starlite and they came to my house. The installer told me they do all the work for the Ford dealership and was heading there after he finished my truck...

F@*!ing dealers.
