i finally got the motivation to finish up a couple things on my fox. added cobra front brakes and swapped out my h&r super sport springs for stang suspension springs, which are made by h&r but drop lower than the super sport.

here are the before with the h&r super sports as the car sat 1 year ago. i believe my car sat higher than your typical fox with the same springs due to the stiffer urethane isolators.

here are the after pics taken today. sorry for the crappy pics as the daly city fog was in full force today. i still need to find a set of bullit caps to replace the cheesy cobra knock-off caps.

Very clean car, i like the stance on it. Im trying to give mine a similiar effect.

That's a beautiful car and the stance is much better!

I am very surprised with your ride height with the SS springs. Every SS equipped Mustang I have seen was LOW.

Poly isolators will raise you, but not that much

Look at Gus's black vert... Its slammed with H&R SS's that I recommended him.

My car is still an inch lower that your current stance, lol.

Only thing I would change now is the cheesy snake centercaps.

thanks
yeah i have seen others with the same springs with a nice slammed stance and i just couldnt figure out why mine sat so much higher.
im a lot happier with the stance now.

im removing 18x10.5 saleens(28mm offset) w/ 295 kdw tires off my 94 cobra and may mount the wheels on the 92 just for kicks to see how much clearance ill have with a wider tire. ill probably have some major clearance issues inside with the saleens. im also tempted to try out my new ssr gt3 18x10.5(22mm) offset but unfortunately the 315 tires are way too wide for a fox
with the 275 michelin pilot on the 18x10 bullit, i still have plenty of clearance on the outside.

yeah i know you're always a fan of that killer in the weeds look. to go any lower, id have to go with a similar coil over setup as yours but for now this will have to do.

yes death to cobra replica center caps. looks like the bullit center caps are around $70 on ebay. freakin more expensive than saleen caps.

I would keep the Bullitts. I think they fit that car quite well...

Took my coupe out for the first tim ein 6 months... What a ride the Griggs hardware allows for... wow

yeah i read your thread on the corral. mustve been a blast to finally take that ride out to test out the new suspension after sitting for all that time. now take some darn pics of the car already.

luke, its a ricer stang. all looks but no go. aside from just bolt-ons its stock. just like with all our projects this one is also a work in progress. eventually when the funds permit, ill go with some hci combo, probably afr165s.

chris, yeah im pretty happy with how they turned out.

ya, I hear you...

the biggest thing holding me back is smog.
I have been ready to start the swap a few times now... and just delayed it because I am dreading the smog issue...

yeah, u just gotta find a nice smog friendly shop. there is a 76 station down the street from me. all they do is the sniffer with no visual at all. speaking of smog, i just got dmv reg notification in the mail and guess what? smog is due. im worried my bassani cats are near the end.

I have been sent to test only the past 3 smog checks. I think its safe to assume I am going to test only from here on in... Not sure why...

Very nice....One of the best looking Fox's on here!....

I personally think the LX lights look perfect, but did you ever think about the 93 Cobra rear lights?....The wheels look great and especially the front brakes....

I agree with luke. Much much better. It looks great. Remember I got dibs if u ever sell it [Razz]
I was thinking and maybe mine sat lower on the SS springs due to the convertible weighing more than a HB, maybe? [Confused] I too have the same urethane isolators. Whatever works for the stance u want, I say [patriot] Looks great.

have u converted the interior to black yet?

take care

thanks everyone
im keeping the bullits. since i was swapping out rims on my 94cobra, i was going to test fit a 10.5" saleen and 10.5" ssr on the 92 to see if it could fit some wider meat.

i was thinking of the 93cobra taillights but those would make my car look too much like a cobra. i figured the different rims, cowl, lx tail lights and shaved emblems set the car apart from a cobra.

gus,
u never know. money talks. ive thought more than once on selling the car for something different like getting back into an 03. i would trade both of my cars and cash to get back into one. im nearly done with the black conversion and just need to install the black dash and find a black cargo cover. the car just sits and is pretty impractical to drive anywhere as im paranoid it would get nabbed. for nearly the 2yrs of owning it i have driven it probably 200miles..mostly because

it was a project i inherited from a buddy of mine. the car was so clean and ended up getting nearly stolen in an apt complex garage. the thieves left it with no interior, rims, parts of the suspension and misc body pieces removed. part merced apt in sf state is notoriously for cars getting stolen.
