I am thinking about picking up a 1993 Calirfornia Special Mustang vert. This is the triple white car...white body, white interior, white ponies, and white top.

The car has 98K original miles, 5 spd, and is in excellent condition. The owner is telling me that this model is worth some money, but to me it looks like a plain white vert. Is this worth $6000?

I think it would be worth 6k if it's in great condition, personally I like the red ones better.

White Mustangs look great, if I were to buy a drop it would be that or the red one, I personally don't care for convertibles but if I had to pick one it would be that car or the red one.

Just out of curiousity...would modding this car depreciate its resale value? I know a lot of people dont like to mod 93 cobrs because they are afraid of depreciating the value, but is this true? opinions please...

The reason I ask is because I would want to do the 5-lug conversion & different white rims, possibly cobra kit (MAYBE), then some mods to the motor (heads, cam, intake, etc.).

If you want to have a nice car for years to come (with resale in mind) then keep your mods tasteful. DO NOT put a body kit on it and do not touch the motor aside from exhaust, maybe a 3g alternator + electric fan, and crap like the tfi module.

Leave it 4 lug, but you could certainly do a 4 wheel disc brake conversion. Maybe some 1" lowering springs with castor/camber plates.

Stiffening the chassis is a must since Ford cut a lot of corners when 'engineering' the fox convertables. Full subframes, strut/shock tower braces, weld up the torque boxes, and polyurethane bushings throughout the car.

Keep it clean and mostly stock and you'll have a 5.0 Mustang that stands out from the rest and will actualy be worth something 5-10 years from now.
