Well just purchased the laminate wood flooring for the areas I wanted. Thanks again David for you suggestions. I scored a good deal at R&J.

Now I need carpet for 4 bedrooms approx 700sq ft.

Any suggestions? There are tons to pick from and I'm lost....help!

Looking for something the compliments a hickory hand scraped floor color. Probably just a solid beige no special patterns. Maybe a stain master?

What about padding suggestion?

I would advise You to shop around and if You have the mean's then get a carpet with a good thread count and ask and look at the amount of twist's in each strand of carpet " I don't know the technical term for it" and at least go with the middle grade pad and see how much of a difference each place will charge for the mid and top grade pad. And ask about current or upcoming sales!

Get some berber(sp?) type carpeting not the older cut pile(sp?) stuff.

I like the look and feel of it....plus it seems to hold up to trafiic fairly well.

Just don't vaccum it with a rotating head bristle.

That should look really good with the laminate [Cool]
