RIP to all those that died.

I don't understand why people do that. What could drive someone to go out and kill people that they don't even know or had nothing to do with their problems? What were they thinking while they were shooting people? How did that make them feel any better?

I seriously hope the cops shot the dude and he didn't take his own life cause you know the cops didn't hit him in the head or anything that would kill him instantly so that mofo better have suffered before dying.

I wonder what the ex-gf of the dude is thinking now too. [Eek!]

yeah seriously. I think the dude took his own life, i am disappointed, he probably died quick if he took his own life.

Yeah, the news reported that the suspect shot himself in the head.

He was a legal immigrant from South Korea.

I wonder if the first shooting was him killing his exgf and her new bf.

What happened yesterday at VT was a horrific tragedy; my thoughts and prayers are with those people and families who were victimized. However, I believe this story is receiving far too much attention because it happened to, “Americans”. Everyday in places around the world hundreds-of-thousands of innocent children, women, and men are massacred, raped, and tortured. Yet, since these stories don’t involve us, “Americans,” we turn a blind eye. When was the last time someone posted a thread about the tragedy of the suicide bomber that blew him self up in a crowded market place killing 50 people? Or, the massacre of entire villages in Dufar? Events like VT massacre take place three and four times a day in some places. Yet because it is American blood spilled it’s, “OMG, how could this happen” and “I hope this man burns in hell” IMO, we need to open are eyes and see the World Tragedy that occurs daily and make sure we do not forget the ones who don’t have a voice because they are not American.

We ARE focusing on it...we're in Iraq/Afghanistan/Somalia...and a few other countries that have a bunch of consonants and very few vowels...but you knew that, right? Tell that to my fellow servicemen that we're NOT doing anything in other countries. These people have a voice...it's your tax dollars and Defense Dept speaking for them.

You've obviously had zero tragedy occur in your life on a scale outside of stubbing your toe or you'd have a different outlook on it. You take care of/care for your own first...other countries second.

First off, let me defend my statement by saying, "I would never say anything bad about the men/women who continually put themselves in harms way to protect my freedoms!" Second, let me apologize to anyone that was offended by what I was saying, I think that you may have misinterpreted what it was I was saying. I was speaking about the media and how they exploit the situation to get ratings. The point I was trying to make is a child is child, a women is women regardless if they are American or Iraqi. Violence like the VT massacre does not have borders. I may have miss-worded that in my last statement. However, as I was saying tragedies like this happen all the time across the world. We should not just talk or pray about it when it happens here. Thirdly, I was not trying to say that we shouldn't take care of our own people, if I thought that, I would not be perusing a career in Law Enforcement.

Bottom line, the kid was a pussy and no one but him is to blame. Professors, teachers and students can't be expected to psychoanalyze and alert. Even the temporary mental facility he was in and then release from clearly found that he could make sound decisions, so again,...kid was just a pussy looking for attention, trying to make his mark in this world. Some people make their mark by doing great things, not the case with this fuckhole.

Personally I feel the more they hype this up the more his mark is imbedded in us. Fuck that guy. Leave the families alone so they can mourn and the rest of us should try and forget the bastard all together.

IF the politicians make a gun law because of this it should be that if you have spent time in a mental health faculity you can never buy a gun.

Agreed with the rest of your post except for that one bit. I think the campus security/police/law enforcement have much blame to take. After the 1st shooting, something should have been done to alert as much of the population on campus as possible. I'm not saying they could have completely stopped the rampage, but it doesn't seem like they put in their full effort to.

I hate most politicians cause of this. ITS NOT THE GUN! IT IS THE PSYCHO PULLING THE TRIGGER!!! I'm willing to bet that if guns where more readily available and some students in that dorm where armed and able to protect themselves, things would not have gone down the way they did. [Mad]

Hey Look more sickos are coming out

Spammers and hackers are using the slayings at Virginia Tech as a gory lure to infect computers with malicious software, security experts noted Thursday.

While the video made by gunman Cho Seung-hui prior to the killing of 33 people on Monday was widely posted on news Web sites and YouTube.com, spam e-mails were intercepted Wednesday night purporting to link to the footage on a Brazilian Web site, said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant, at security vendor Sophos PLC.

If clicked, the link caused a computer to automatically download a malicious screensaver, called TERROR_EM_VIRGINIA.scr by Sophos, which installs a Trojan horse program that collects banking details, Cluley said.

It's unclear yet what banks the Trojan is engineered to exploit, Cluley said. Sophos has posted a screenshot of the spam.

The e-mails are unlikely to mean much to English speakers since they're written in Portuguese, Cluley said. But hackers have repeatedly used breaking news events to try to trick users into opening malicious programs.

"We might see other hackers jump on the coattails of this," Cluley said.

After emergencies and disasters, fraudulent Web sites purporting to collect charity money also tend to emerge. So far, more than 450 domain names related to the Virginia Tech shooting have been registered that look questionable, wrote Johannes Ullrich, chief technical officer for the Internet Storm Center, part of the SANS Institute, which monitors the health of the Internet.

The registrations have occurred at a faster pace than ones after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in August 2005, Ullrich wrote on Monday.

SANS has posted a list of suspicious domains and their status. Virginia Tech has has set up an official site with information on a memorial fund.

The U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team warned on Tuesday it's likely some of those domains could turn into phishing sites.

Earlier in the week, eBay Inc. canceled auctions trying to sell domains related to the Virginia Tech shootings, with one listed at US$49,930.

Myself and other kids have been pushed around, maybe some not to his extent. But the majority of the ones being "bullied" would never think of taking the lives of random/innocent people. That guy is fawked in the head. Too bad he couldn't have just shot himself in the head instead. And I don't feel any remorse for saying something like that.

I was reading somewhere on cnn.com that another kid shot his principle over bullying at school..

WTF is all this about? Why do these punk sons of beetches just stand up for themselves? If you let someone punk you around, of course you're weak, that same person will come back AGAIN and punk you around MORE..

i read about that too. The kid had huge anger problems and was kind of an idiot as well. I guess he had a spit ball straw and one of the teachers tried taking it from him and he went psycho. The next day he brought a gun to school and was either pulling it out or something when the principle tackled him and while they were fighting he shot the principle 3 times.

He bought the 2 guns he used legally from a gun store in Virginia. He also wasnt a "kid" anymore so to speak so blaming his parents is irrelevant.
