oh yeah!they have always been known for there smaller engine expertise, but they everything else as well, and do a great job. they have built engines for me in the past including the 347 in my 65 that put out 500hp, 480fptq on the engine dyno, carborated on pump gas

Bastard! Envy . I'm just kidding. Definatelly go with the 408 stronger block, more potential. Hearsay is not a good way to base the choice on the shop u will be choosing for the assembly/work. Numbers and facts is what u should base that on. Look at AED their work speaks for itself, Nuff said....

im sure AED does a great job, only mentioned rebello because the poster was looking for a local shop. poster is in pittsburg, rebello is in antioch next town.nothing in it for me. but my numbers are a fact.

rebellos built my boys 4.6 sohc turbo motor, and my boss's 406sbc nitrous motor. they do excellant work, in a decent amount of time.

Drew at AED built my 331. All off the shelf parts and 10:1 comp ratio. I put down 371 hp and 360tq on a Dynojet. Car went a best 11.7@117.789 with a 1.63 60ft. in street trim. Drews 347 put down like 470 something to the wheels WELL OVER 500 on just the motor and EFI. He could build you one like his but just be ready to shell out some money.
