my little brother found a 88 5.0 with an aod tranny but ive heard nothing but bad things about those trannys and as you can tell im not familier with fords. does anybody have any inputs about aod trannys...thanks [patriot]

as long as u dont neutral drop the damn thing you shuld be alright... all things break eventually.

If there built right you maintain them properly they are great transmissions. I was going 11.50's with my old art carr aod with a 3500lb car and just picked up lentech strip terminator which should hold me into the 9's with no problems.
