I've been looking to buy a new deck for my 01 GT and have been looking at the pioneer models AVIC-D2 and AVIC-N3 but when I look at the Best Buy web site is says these models will not fit in my car. Does anybody have any experiance with these models on a 99+ GT? Does anybody know if a double din radio will fit in these cars?

You can put a double din in there but you are looking at some custom work. Thats way best buy says no it will not work. Cause best buy is all about quick and easy. Not any custom work.

there are more than a few guys that have they in their stangs... mostly from what I have read, there will be some gappage around the the faceplate.

I put the avic-d2 in my 01 Bullitt. I used the factory mounting brackets off the stock 6-disc player and it fit just fine. I had to shave a little off the trim ring on top to make it fit perfect.
