my girl friends mustangs seat belts suck, they dont retract all the way. so when you get out of the car most of the time they are hanging out. I was thinking about buying her new ones. Is that a good idea, or are all mustangs like that?

It's not just her's. Pretty much all Ford seatbelts blow. The only Ford that I've ever owned that the seatbelts work decently and are comfortable is my Superduty. Both of my 92's seatbelts were shitty.

You could buy new ones but you'd be back to square one within a few years. If she plans on keeping the car for quite sometime to come then I would say go ahead and replace them.
