John

I'm still going to have ya take a look at my F150's rear end "hum" but i'll be in Tahoe this week and next week so probably not until after that.

How much lead time do ya need for me to schedule something?

Damnit and the Cobra is now leaking gear oil all over my girls new garage so it looks like i'll be workin on that thing to seal it up [Mad] while you fix my truck [Big Grin]

John, I hit the 12's without the gears, so let me know when you have time now please and we'll toss in the 4.10's.

Hey Johnny Buttercup what city are you located in? I may need a swap in a dana 60. You know anyone locally that can turn down shafts and respline them?

Posted by JohnB (Member # 969) on :

I'm in Fairfield. I don't know of anyone locally that does them, but I'm sure there's someone in SF or Sac that takes care of them. Unless it's something way trick, it's just as cheap to buy new shafts nowadays...

ya I can get them from dutchman with custom cut lengths and I know someone in sac that does it also. Just wondering if you work with someone who does that stuff. I'm looking to narrow the axle 5 or so inches. So you can do the gears on it? Maybe I'll just drop off the axle to you then. This is for a friend that wants to build a crawler so gears are going to be 5.13 or 5.38.

John, pm me a time/amount when you can do the 4.10's in the 06 please. We buzzed on/off the pinion nut here at work so it should be ok this time?

Thanks,

Don

Sorry it took so long for me to get back with you I was busy working on other people's cars and also busy chatting on the internet. Does your friend still want that stuff done? What type of axles? If so let me know!!

John I seriously had the guy looking for a gear install but since you didn't get back to me he went elsewhere. I was just trying to throw you some work.

In the future I'll be doing a gear swap front and rear and I'll be looking for someone to do the install. Both are dana 44s. I'm picking up the axle this weekend in Sac. If you're not interested in doing the work then that's fine. I just thought I'd use someone from cafords since I'm on this site a lot.

You asked about shortening a axle and shafts, I replied.
If you honestly need it done, PM me.

Posted by cummins (Member # 5931) on :

I mentioned that he is doing a crawler and wanted to do gears and either 5.13s or 5.38s. Anyway I will need gear work in the future. I am just waiting to blow up this front axle which should not take long with the way I drive. I'll be going with 4.56s or 4.88s.

John can you PM me a price on a install on some lowering springs. I may want to do it Sunday or maybe Saturday after 2pm if possible

Another A+ endorsement for JohnB. Great work done fast.

And he fixed one of my F'ups... the car drove home like a different car. Thanks again!
