I know... global warming isn't working! It's only getting colder! They should have called it 'global cooling'

I am all for global warming. It is nice wearing a t-shirt in broad daylight on a winter day.

So the unanimous agreement by scientists saying global warming is happening must be some kind of a conspiracy? The bay area is not the center of the universe folks.

Imagine what the temp and the CO2 levels would be if there really was global warming [Wink]

Global warming is causing climate changes. The earths overal ave temp is climbing, the glaciers are really melting and polar bears are dying.

Here's something to wring your hands over if you must.

Sky & Telescope (February 2006)

"On December 16, 2005, Rachel Osten (university of Maryland) and six colleagues had the good fortune to observe one of the most powerful stellar flares ever. Energetic X-rays from the active binary star II Pegasi (HD 224085) triggered sensors on NASA's Swift satellite.

Located about 135 light-years from Earth, II Peg is at least a billion years older then our Sun and has only 80% of it's mass. These characteristics would normally suggest a quiescent star. But tidal forces exerted by a nearby companion cause the star to rotate quickly (once every seven days), generating a dynamo capable of igniting powerful flares. The December 2005 outburst released 100 million times more energy than a typical solar flare - a similar event from our Sun would extinguish much of life on Earth."

So just when you think you got problems with global warming - BANG, we're all dead from a solar flare.

Excellent. I am going to buy 100 bucks worth of gas tomorrow and tell everybody to run their lawn mowers and stuff so I can make the earth that much warmer. Today was a little cold.
