I should be snowboarding really soon and I still don't have my board or bindings yet. I have my boots though. So the boards that I'm looking at are the K2 Fuse Wide board, K2 Illusion board, Burton King Board Wide. I have to get wide because my feet are size 14 in snowboard boots. Anybody ride a wide board, if so what kind do you have? Any suggestions for a begginer board, but at the same time something I don't have to trade in for soon. I want something that I can grow with.

Also all these websites that are on the net. Keep repeating the same shops and they're all sold out. There's gotta be some smaller shops on the net. I keep getting returns on Dogfunk, Doghouse, Back Country, REI etc...... Any other lurker sites that may have my board and size?

what length fuse are you looking for?

edit: the king is probably the best out of those 3, 2nd place goes to the fuse since its pretty good for the price

I always go to Sports Basement either in S.F. or in S.V.

They always have the best deals on any sporting good they carry.

I ride a LibTech Dark Series board 155 mainly for cruising in the park and general messin around.

If i could do it again i would have got the 158W w/ Magnatraction (size 12 boot)

What type of riding do you do?

I ride a 153 forum recon with drake 150 bindings, it was my first board and it kicked ass overall, mtn riding and park. I just stepped up to a ride fleetwood 158 with ride delta force bindings but i still need to test it out. Im also selling my 153 forum board n bindings if your interested. i wear size 13 and didnt have any problems with it.

So I bought my board today and ended up getting the Burton King and Burton Cartel Bidings. I bought my gear at REI, I couldn't pass up the deal they had with the membership savings and their return policy 100% garauntee satisfacation. Reminds me of Costco policy. I can return no hassle if Im not satisfied with the product even after the 30 day return/exchange. So that was cool/ sold me on it.

I ended spending a little more than what I origianlly budgeted myself on my gear. But I think in the long run it would be better. I was expecting to buy a board under $300 and bindings in the $150 range. But I like the features on my gear and can't go wrong with Burton too. I ended up spending $550. This is my first snowboard gear setup. So hopefully it helps me out in my learning stage. Here are the pics:

Here is a better picture of the bindings I got.

I can't wait to snowboard next weekend. By the way what are your guys thoughts on helmets and goggles and snow clothing gear? I still need to get some of those items. Thanks

I was there today and bought my Spy Orbit goggles for $85+tax. That was a sweet deal for me. Your price was cool to begin with $100 (beat REI $140), but I had a good coupon I ran across the net. To get that price.

Make sure you purchase some good bindings. I always see people struggling with some of the cheap crap out there. You can always re-use them when you upgrade to a better board.

They use the different colors for riding conditions: overcast, sun, cloudy, slurries...

you're eyes will adapt to the lense tint and you'll won't even notice the color until you take the off. pretty trippy
