I sold my pride and joy today...and here's why:

I've had it for about 8 years and the past two, it's been sitting in the garage collecting dust for most of the time. I don't have the time, money or desire to spend with and on it anymore. I want to spend 100% of my non-working time with my daughter and what she is now doing. I don't want to miss any practices or performances because to me there is no car or anything else that can make me feel the way I feel when I see her perform in front of thousands of people. I'm just too old and want to spend all my free time and money on her. There are people she performs with that have their own agents and they travel all around the country doing what they do and their parents are right there with them...that's what I want for us. With Lee's help, I found the perfect person to buy the car...someone that will use it wisely and not worry that it doesn't pass smog right now.

Good luck with everything you guys do.

Tony

After seeing pics of your car, I knew it would sell fast. There will always be another car, but you can only watch your kids grow up once.

Wow!
Definately priorities in life that come before hobbies... That's why we're going fast now.....once we have kids, things will change. Although I don't know if I'll ever not have one or 2 projects in the garage. [Smile]

What does your daughter do?

Thanks guys...I'll still be around. I've had lots of fun with you guys at the track over the past few years. I'm sure I'll be back out there sooner or later.

Shaun, she's 8 and is a professional dancer right now working for the Golden State Warriors. [burnout]

Good for you Tony!

Great decision! Congrats.

For me, the aspect that hurts me the most in owning a Mustang is not the time I spend working on it or racing it, it is the time I spend mentally focusing on it.

This hobby can truly consume you. Enjoy your daughter and get back into this hobby when your kids are all grown up

Good Luck!

Tony, I wish I could have got it when you called me, I understand what you are going through, that is why my 88 GT has been parked for 4 years, my four kids take alot of time and leaves my no time to finish it, but I can wait, but it looks like your old car is coming over tomorrow if you want to stop by.

Thanks for the heads up Lee...but I have to take the daughter to practice in Oakland right after work. What are you guys doing to it?

Posted by racsirx (Member # 1710) on :

Sean does his own work, he just needs some help with some other stuff, you know what I am talking about.
