I just got off the phone with my relatives from Hawaii and all are doing fine. Their power has been out for for about 12 hours. One thing that stands out compared to cities like San Francisco and Oakland is that there was NOOOOO looting! Hell when power goes out in SF and Jokeland all those scavangers loot and steal everything they can. Nothing is safe, cars, stores, people, nothing! Those cities are just full of garbage and it makes me glad I don't live in shit towns like that. People in HI helped each other out including store owners, families that suffered from destruction and anyone else in need. Hell people in SF and Oakland only help themselves. Hawaii for the win!!!!!!

If there's gonna be looting, I think I'll have to invest in a weapon of some sort [Mad] Sad, worrying about your belongings being stolen should be the LAST thing on your mind in a natural disaster. [Roll Eyes]

The Hayward quake will be bigger, the fault hasn't moved in 30 years or so in the hayward area but the other parts of the fault have which means theres a lot of friction in hayward and soon that will break loose.
Plus the 89 Quake wasn't even in SF it was near the Santa Cruz hills

Same thing could be said for the towns outside of new orleans, towns that got hit the hardest. They helped eachother out, they didn't just give up and hang out waiting for hand outs. They combined resources and got shit done.

dont forget the Media lets you see what they want you too. Spin is a hell of a thing. I mean yeah there was looting and such in new orleans but im guessing its not as bad as the media portrayed it. but i do agree that it will probably get ugly in SF and especially oakland if a major quake hits. hopefully the bay has a more effecient response plan

+1 for fuck the media!!

They don't know shit. They kept saying all flights to and from Hawaii were canceled, yet if you actually called the airports, they go by what traffic control says and flights were going TO Hawaii at least. My In-Laws flew out there the day of the quake. 6 hours after the quake during all 'power outages'.

The media wont have a story if there isn't havoc to report. No one would watch it.

They were also saying all cruise ships were keeping passengers on board and not letting new ones one. Again false if you called the actual cruise lines and asked them. They were letting people off and on.

News is like a reality show. They show you what they think you'll be interested in. Some twisted truth to keep viewers on their station. Sometimes they get the real truth because they have no choice as its throw right in the camera and there is no disputing it. But these breaking news lines they flash on tv are BS!

natural disaster and no food/water/shelter/help from bush or fema = mad and mean people = looting and killing = sure there were some that took the time as a time to loot but for those that did it for their families i would do that samething everytime no doubt
