this morning, Mike Tambe known as ShiftyGT on the board passed away in his sleep.
he wasn't on the boards an awful lot, but he did make the trip from Chico for one of the car shows with me, and he dealt with several members on here for parts for his 306 we built.

i'm gonna miss you man. rip.

complications from a brain tumor he developed about 3 years ago. he was having seizures nad when they did a cat scan they found it. he got his license suspended due to the siezures, so we decided to build a 306 for his gt. thats when he started coming on here to gain knowledge and advice on the engine combo.

he had brain surgery about 3 years ago and they removed as much of it as they could, but it had reached into his central nervous system and they couldn't get it all out. it kept regrowing and then they took him off of chemo about a month ago because it wasn't doing him any good.
since the A's are his favorite team, a charity paid for him and his family to go from Chico to an A's game in a limo last weekend where he got to ride around the edge of teh field in a golf cart!

he never had a bad word for anybody and was incredibly upbeat about his situation and always had a smile on his face.

Very sad. It's really unfortunate to lose someone in general, but even worse when their really young. RIP.

i was told they just had a special on him on the nightly news. i don't know which channel, but it was about when he went to the A's game.

thanks matt for finding that! he was so bummed out that he could only drive the car around the block. i was driving him around in it for about 6 months!
first thing he did when he got his liscense back was do a huge brakestand!
