1. dumps or tail pipes?
im reconsidering putting on my 2.5 lx tail pipes and just run dumps.but when it comes to smog i have to a tail pipe for that probe thing to go into the exhuast, i was also thinking of doing side exhuast also.

2. 373 gears or 4.10 gears.
my notch isnt my daily driver so im not worried about gas that much. future plans for the car are. a 331 with no2 and maybe a blower farther down the line.

3. for now go with a low mileage 302 with the tfs track heat top end. with a small shot of no2
or
just wait get a adperformance 331 or 347 with a mild HCI and no2.
also i was thinking of just going with a 302 with the tfs HCI and saving for the adperformance shortblock and swap everything over when i get it.

1.Tailpipes are a must on a lx but you could pass smog with dumps i have several friends that have recently done it.

2. I would say 3.73's they're good all around gears even for a daily driver (i have them in my car milage satyed about the same) 4.10 might be a little overkill for what your planning imo.

the probe will be able of be put on with dumps cuz then they dyno'd my car they proped it up so i say dumps cuz it looks a lot cleaner and i would go 410 depending how much or little your gonna spray

Like these guys said, you can pass smog with dumps but I've had them and personally can't stand them especially in a street car. Plus coupes look better with pipes imo. With a 331 and juice, I would stick with a 3.73 unless you plan to wind it high or put a 28" tire on it.

I've had both dumped and tail pipes, with both o/r H&X-pipe setups on my coupe...My vote for tail pipes & 4.10's

I've also passed smog with my dumps..no problem. Just think about cars and mustangs with side exhaust..they get smogged tooo.

everyone the car is a 5 speed car.
i might just stick with 373.
