Hey everyone,
Check out this Shelby GT500 video I found. So far it's the only good video I've seen of the actual production GT500's. It's a little long, but definately worth the time to watch. It was filmed at the Claremont Resort in Berkley. Hope you guys enjoy this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYN2JGYe9tA

You know it will be way over 500 rwhp with a pulley change and open up the intake track and exhaust a little bit. As far as the weight goes I'm sure the torque of the 5.4 will make up the difference. It's only 300 pound's heavier than the terminator rite? Car will be an animal for sure.

Yeah, it will be an animal with only a few mods. But my '04's is damn near paid for .
BTW, I spoke with the sales manager at Dublin Ford(he sold me my 04), ran into him at Safeway. He said that they will are receiving 7 of them on July 2...sticker is gonna be 52,000 for 'em. He said they'll go for well over 60, maybe 70 once the bidding begins

I was'nt suggesting You sell Your ride. I just meant in general. I will wait a year or two and see what the price is new and used then and make My decesion.

Oh, I know you weren't suggesting anything, bro. I was just thinkin' about gettin' one myself, but after all the $ I put into my '04 and THEN throw down some serious coin for a Shelby(a car that will be slower than mine ...stock anyways)...just doesn't make sense. They will be fast though. Pulley, tune, CAI, and exhaust will probably be good for 525-550 to the wheels.

poop. It's almost an insult to us Cobra owners that Ford will make a new Cobra on the '05 body style. It just can't get any uglier.
I honestly don't think I will ever buy a new Ford again. Hopefully there will still be plenty of clean 94-95 Cobras around in a few years.

I'm certainly happy that Ford is producing a 500 hp Mustang, and bringing back the Shelby GT500, etc., but I just cannot warm up to the 05. It's too bloated looking; the quarter light windows are out of place-too small, it has no real style of its own- its as if they took a 69 or 70 and inflated it with air and removed whatever nice lines it had in the process. It's pure retro, without any imagination.
The 1969-1970 Fastbacks, which the 05 seems to emulate, are much better looking, imo. So too are the 65-68's for that matter. I had a 1971 Boss 351, and it was a boat for sure, but I even think it looked better than the 05, the more I think about it.

I'm not saying that You or anyone else will warm up to the new look but in 1994, 1996, and 1999 there was alway's a transition time for acceptance. I am not in love with the new body style but I they could have done worse IMHO.
