Has anybody had any work done on their cars there? The story is this: My friend helped me put in my caster camber plates, and I bought a new set of tires from goodyear. Called up the shop since I heard they did great work, and I knew they were pricey but I was fine with that. The day before my appointment, I had one more wheel lug break off. I already had one broken on each side (in the front), so now I was driving around on 3 studs on the driver's side front wheel. I had gotten some moroso studs to put on that weekend, but I didn't feel safe already driving over to the shop and I didn't want to cancel on them, so I asked them to install the driver's side lugs. They charged me 120 for the alignment, then 240 for the wheel stud installation. They only did 2 on the driver's side which involved drilling out the hub, and replaced the broken one on the passenger side after I had told them to leave that one alone. I had expected them to do all 5 on the driver's side.

I already paid the price, and I was in a hurry that day so I didn't stick around to discuss my unsatisfactory opinion on pricing. They told me they had broken 2 expensive drill bits tryin to get in the moroso studs. Now, I feel bad for them - breaking tools sucks. But at the same time, I also feel that's the responsibility of the shop.

I don't think I can do much since I've already signed the papers and let them swipe the credit card. But is this reasonable? For 240 on labor doing the wheel studs, I thought they would have at least done all 5 on the driver's side.

nope, its your responsibility to get a quote before-hand.

They are very well known for two things around the bay area

a.) second to none when it comes to alignments
b.) second to none when it comes to cost, lol

I forgot that part. They said 180 bucks to do the studs. I was okay with that. I think the guy behind the counter called me later that afternoon and told me about the wheel studs, and I had told him to please leave the passenger side alone and just do the driver's side. He said okay, we hung up, and that was it.
