might be the wrong place to ask but you never know.
My mom just had a pretty recent car accident(two days ago.. her mitsubishi lancer -working car- is totalled so we need a new work car.
we need to get one this saturday.
Civics are great on gas and inexpensive. does anyone have any recomendations when it comes down to what dealership to go to? any hook ups?
Thanks.

if you're buying used, I'd highly suggest Craigslist...you're bound to find a deal there

my mom refuses to buy used . she's too stubborn for me to argue with her... guess we are getting a new one.. but don't know where to go.. most dealerships play games.
Last time we purchased her lancer, 2002, we walked out of two places cuase they were playing too many games. i was just trying to avoid that in case someone here had some recomendations.

Are you in the Bay Area? You can go to Honda of Oakland. I know the General Sales Manager, his name is Chi. He gives good deals there.

My pops just bought a Honda Pilot from San Leandro Honda. He found the cheapest price he could find on the net, printed it out, and they matched the price.
Good luck!

I don't know if you belong to a credit union or not, but when I bought my wife's in 2002, I used an auto shopper at the credit union. I told them exactly what I wanted and they found one in Monterey for $1800 less than I could find at any dealer. They drove it to me the next day and I signed all the paperwork at my house, very easy.

Email the internet manager from each local dealership. Tell them what you want and pay no more than 500 over invoice. Start out at 200 over, and you should get a good deal. This way you won't have to waste time with a sales person. Just make sure your mom knows what color, model etc, before doing this and you should get a great deal! Goodluck
