We had beautiful weather on Friday for a HOD OpenTrack Day at Thunderhill. Unfortunately there were a few mishaps.

Your so smart Kev! I'm glad it wasn't me, but it easily could have been.

The poor guy just slipped off track on turn 15, bottomed out, broke the bracket that holds the halfshaft and sent the car into the concrete divider for the hotpits. Luckily he walked away with only sore bodyparts, but the car is totaled!

That sucks!...

You know what's worse? His insurance co isn't gonna cover a dime of that. [Frown]

it can be fixed.....just needs a new door, front/rear fenders, IRS or halfshaft, rims, front bumper....

but if the chassis is bent, that needs to be straightend.....

Nothing hurts more than knowing that you ruined your car all by yourself and not be able to fix it. His insurance is going to go up too.

if he doesnt claim it then it wont go up, insurance wont cover it anyway so just dont say anything [Frown]

or just drag it onto the road and call a tow truck [Razz]

He should be ok, we were all talking about this at the track. I talked with my insurance guy this morning and I asked him. He told me I would be covered, unless it was a race for money and involved timing. He had told me a few years back that drag racing was not covered.(timing and competition(even for a trophy)like on Wed's night drags)

Not him! He is a Bay Area guy and has only had the car for a few months. The car has lots of mads and is very twisted, it looks worse in person and I can't see it being fixed(I usually think anything can be fixed).

Goor lord that must suck. [Frown] [Frown] I know this sounds kinda messed up but I wonder if he is willing to part out with any of the mods though [Confused]

Ya events like this are covered. Insurance treats thenm as driving schools, since thats what they are. That though is the worst I have seen someone do out of that corner so far. [Frown]

That's gotta suck! I feel bad.

On another note: Someone should jump on his interior and throw it in a notch like that black notch that had the 03 Cobra engine in it. If I were in that situation I would do my interior like that!

The guy is on SVTPERFORMANCE. I'm pretty sure he can tell you what you would need to do. Unfortunately I don't know his screen name. Just make a post for the guy with the NOTCHBACK with COBRA interior [Big Grin]
