So I just moved into an apartment complex near Arden way in Sacramento about 3 weeks ago. Everything was fine until last night around 2:30am. I heard some guys talking by my bedroom window and heard one of them say something about a white mustang. That instantly had me up on my feet and peeking out the front door of my apartment. I heard one of them say,

"That's a nice stang...I think we should do this...you take something out and I take something out. Let's go get our stuff and come back to get this one."

I saw both of them leave and stood outside so that they saw that somebody was out there and maybe they wouldn't try to jack my ride. But then four guys came back and they didn't see me out there until they were almost real close to me. One of them had the nerve to come out to me and play it off like he confused me for someone he knew. I told them I was waiting for my homeboys to come by any minute to ride out with them. I don't think they knew it was my car. They stepped around the corner and waited for me to leave, but they got tired of waiting and all them left. I got into my stang and drove it to a friend's house across town and parked it in the driveway.

I asked the management today if they have had car thefts and they told me that recently someone had their car broken into twice the same week, and last month a car was stolen from the gated underground parking lot. WTF! I hate fags like these that try to screw it up for people who put everything into their stangs.

The guy that walked up to me lives like 5 doors down, he also had the nerve to ask if I wanted to go get some beer with them. I won't be parking my car there again, I might just use a beater for now. Heads up for anyone living in apartments with a nice stang.

I bet the guy that lives 5 doors down is the same guy that stole the car from the secured garage...how else would someone have easy access to it. If I were you, tell the management about what happened and mention that the guy that lives 5 doors down was one of the guys "attempting/planning" on breaking into your car what a bunch of fuckers

My boy moved to this area while up sac state, he got robbed his 3rd month there. Thats not a great area. Sorry to hear about that. I would file an police report and get full coverage in case you dont already have it.

Thanks for the advice guys, this was one hell of a welcoming to sac. I thought about bringing out the bat for some head bashing but these guys know where I live and they will probably break into my apartment when I'm not there and might do something to my wife and 2-year old kid. Believe me, I thought out the situation and I think leaving them guessing was my best move.

Do a search at apartments.com for the complex you live in. I bet its the park at point west or the one right by it. You will find a lot of break ins, car theft, and rapes. When the state fair comes along you will hate it even more. Those are the main reasons my girlfriend and I got a place somewhere else.

Good call if you have a wife and kid... I wouldve done the same thing although my blood would be boiling on the inside.

IMO its time to get even, or ready.. start scoping their shit and what they have/drive. Its just a matter of time now before they actually pull something off with your car.... might as well put a plan together. Whether that consists of either ammunition or a vid cam I would get it ready.

i agree with avengeance. they will be back for your car. it may be a week or a month, but it sounds like they like your ride (in a bad way). The camera would be a good way. OR go down and see if you can buy one of those Huge metal boots to put around your tire. The ones that immobolize your vehicle.

Oh and I agree about not confronting them. Then you would have been in jail for something far worse. Unfortunately talking about stealing a car does not constitute a crime. You would have actually commited the crime.

I love all these people on here that talk a bunch of shit about what they would do or what you should have done (brandish a gun, get your boys, bring a bat, etc.) Yet have no regard about the consequences of those actions and those it may affect (family).
