Anyone know how?

I've seen a Harbor Freight kit with White and Red Rouge. Do those work?

Also heard of wetsanding with 600, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit paper until your arm falls off .

I have 2 cotton wheels and a weekend. I also have some mothers aluminum polish.

Anyone got any pointers?

This is what your gonna need 80, 120, 180, 220, 320,400 grit Wet/Dry Sandpaper; (2) 6" Spiral Sewn Buffing Wheels; Tripoli Compound and White Rouge. All this can be bought at sears. Ok here ya go, first make sure that you get the powder coating or paint off the pieces you wanting to polish. Now that the powder coating has been removed you need to start the sanding. 1st, start with 80 grit sand paper to remove all the rough casting form the piece, the big flat areas are not a problem it's the smaller areas that are the problems you can use Tapered sanding rolls which will help speed up the process of sanding, but it can be done by hand sanding. Now that you have the whole piece sanded with 80 grit you now need to use the 120 grit sand paper to remove the scratches that the 80 grit sanding left. Next, you need to use the 180 grit sand paper to remove the sanding marks left by the 120 grit sand paper. You'll need to repeat this process using the 220-400 grit sand paper and nylon sanding wheels. I never gone higher than 600 grit. I have also heard people sanding with 1000 grit, that's just to much sanding for me.. Plus by the time you have sanded with 80, 120, 180, 220, 320, and 400 you’re gonna be tired of sanding, let the Tripoli Buffing Compound take the fine sanding marks out. Then use the White Rouge to bring back a bright finish.. Kinda long but hopefully helped you out

go ahead and take it to the 1000 grit or even 1300. I take my stuff up to 1300, it really does make a difference. Makes the stuff look like chrome.
