i hate to watch these shows when its for a star that can afford to do the car themselves i think it is just dumb and a waste of time save the shows for that hard working guy/gal that deserves it and cant afford it i dont know if any of you agree but i saw two tonight overhaulin was a friend of jay leno like he couldnt do for his friend and rides is for gay ass fear factor host [Mad]

It's all about money and publicity.

When the celebrity flaunts his new whip and tells all his buddies what shop/peeps did the work, in comes the dumb fucks that pay $250 for an oil change and $1000 for tint, etc.

Shit west coast customs has figurines and a clothing line. It's just good marketing if you think about it.

the part i fukkin hate is when they do like a brand new car, for example the 05 mustang gt and the dodge magnum. the person had no emotional attachment to the car and no background or history. it should be for people that have had the car for a while and had gone though hard time and they had to put the car on the back burner due to the situation. like with the mustang the only background was that she was a hard worker and worked as a nurse and thats it, the magnum was that she was a great mom and some other bullshit. the fukked part was the mustang was put up on ebay last month for around$75,000, so in my eyes they didnt deserve the car. all the other cars that they have done the person was gratefully for the car and derserved to have their car overhauled.

True thats is bunch of bullshit but its all about making that money if someone shows off there pimped out ride its advertising the shop who did the work and brings in even more money because its from a crowd that can afford it

I didn't get to see last night's episode, but I agree with what you're saying. I enjoy the episode much more when they steal a poor dude's car and fix it up for him. I didn't like that stuck up chick that owned the 05 that had it Overhauled.

Her husband was a real ass, used to post over at svtperformance. That was my least favorite episode too.

I too agree. Who wants to watch someone with $$$ get something for nothing. I like it when I can put myself in the persons shoes and see a 'real' reaction. I hit the info button first before even changing it to overhaulin last night...as soon as I saw Leno...I changed it to 276 instead.

I don't like Overhaulin becuase they don't show enough of them working on the car. i don't care about pranks and stupid crap like that i wanna see them do the work on the car.

I agree with you about people who deserve it and can't afford it. Lance Armstron, Ian Zering, etc. But Rides is an enthusiast show and not a make over show. Joe Rogan(AKA gay ass fear factor host) paid 6 bills of his own money to have that car built, he even said so in the Rides episode. i dont think anyone is jealous i know i'm not i can build anything i want dont need them to build my car i'm just down for the regular person that needs it i could give a damn if a star has another car they will never drive who cares i want to see the face of the hard working guy/gal when they fix their car

On Overhaulin? yeah i watched that one. It was definitely a badass Mustang when it was done. I wanna know hwo to fit the wide tires in hte back though. I just looked at mine and i don't know if i can fit 315s or bigger back there without doing a major job.

the car was tubbed. and had a narrowed 9in from the looks of it and a ladder bar setup

Well, I think it's definately better when someone who can't really afford it actually gets the Overhaulin'....BUT, I don't care if you're famous, disabled, or even a rich bitch, if you love your car and know what it's like to actually do that kind of work and can truely appriciate being Overhauled then I'd say it's worth it....

I liked the episode when Chip Foose had his old 55(?) Ford Truck Overhauled at the SEMA show...I thought he knew about it the whole time, but obviously he didn't and with that kind of reaction...With the love he had for that truck I think that was a good show...Yeah, he's rich, but he deserved it....

What?...I had no idea!...I thought it was cool to do a new 05 Mustang, but seriously, (without knowing the whole story) the lady already had a BRAND NEW Mustang did she really deserve an Overhaulin'?... I dont' think so, especially when she sells it an EBAY!....

If people see an 05 Stang being overhauled more people might be interested and watch more...If people see Lance Armstrong and are fans of his they'll prol watch more too.....I guess it's all about the ratings...
