just picked up the stang from apex motorsports in santa clara. I had 4.10 gears installed and Griggs subframe connectors welded in (pullies and dynotune next week... let me take this moment to say apex = [dance] everyone there is awesome)

Anyway, my g/f and I are driving to the local pizza joint.. taking 'er easy to break 'er in. I roll up next to a slammed mid 90s civic coupe with a tuner paint job, rims, a bit of negative camber and a rice exhaust. I think nothing of it, and when the light turns green I just drive regularly. Which happened to be much faster than the Civic can go 'regularly', so he must have thought I wanted to race him.

I stop at the next light. He starts revving it, holding it--letting it bounce off the rev limiter and it SOUNDED LIKE STRAIGHT SHIT. He did this for over 5 seconds. I knew right then he was teh win. I look over, and notice this young punk trying to mug me while his girlfriend looks a bit uncomfortable (racing with your g/f in the car = teh lose ...but he's a youngian and doesn't know better). I just look back. Don't do shit. Light turns green and he burns the tires and takes off... but stops after first gear when he realizes I'm not a retarded dumbass like he is. Oh, and the PD is about 1/4 mile down the road.

I just wanted to share this super-stereotypical moment. It was funny. Oh, and his shit WAS slow. [Smile]

The only ricer I ever liked was built by some guy I know. He built this motor from the ground up, I think it was a spoon engine, anyways the block was around $4k. He threw a giant turbo on it and a 6 speed and put it in a 79' Civic hatchback. The car had rust in a few spots and the paint was shot. He raced his dad in his C5 Z06 and killed it.
