Well a 1911 is a style of a .45 pistol it is wide spread as it was sold to the military there for their patent on it had limitaions so everyone copied it. Glock doesnt make a 1911, they do make a .45 but for a .45 Id go with a 1911 style if you tell us what you are doing with it and a price range I can suggest a perfect model. There are so many 1911 models (the guns used in man apart, bruce willis) are 1911's I must add they are the most famouse .45's. Glock is a great gun! I love them, the 35 is hard to beat! All models of Glocks are great! If you want a carry pistol go with a Glock If you want a shooter go with a mil spec 1911 springfield they are great with a few cheap upgrades. Yes, I know my guns.

you need to pass the handgun safety course. (easy, and its good for 5 years) then you fill out an application, and they do a background check. you have to wait 10 days from the application date to pick up the gun. If you want ill take you to the gun shop i goto and help you pick something. i want to go look at rifles anyways [Smile]

Well I know rifles too what are you looking for? By the way theres nothing wrong with Fostangs pistol I assume its a Sig 9mm? Except the fact 9's have very limited stopping power, my eyes are very foggy too many beers. lmk what rifle.

Why'd you get a Star?

HK USP is the best gun hands down. You get what you pay for. $850 = 1 inch groups at 50 yards

Make sure you are able to pass the bgrd check too. Most gun stores will issue you store credit instead of giving your money back in the event of a failed bgrd check.

Nice gun Sal. I have quite a few myself. Tho I am not a collector

Well I want it for protection and bi-monthly trips to the shooting range. I shot the Glock a couple weeks ago and love he kick. I was thinking about the $600-1100 range and work the upgrades later. I also like the idea of the safety being on both sides.

I shoot a sig, but partial to them, however I shoot a glock in the Academy and they are really nice guns as well. Between the two I would go with a sig hands down but more money. For the price glocks are great guns. My next gun is going to be a glock compact .40.

Porcelain Glock .45? Let me see so when you go through a metal detector it won't go off? Good luck hunting one down...

What gun are you talking about? A Glock doesn't have manual safeties.

Gentlemen, don't mean to flame but it sounds like you all listen to too much rap and watch way too many movies. Sure you'd like to own a Desert Eagle... ever rack the slide on one? It has 8 springs and weighs a ton and only carries the following rounds: 9 (.357), 8 (.41 and .44) or 7 (.440 or .50) rounds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Eagle

Sure you'd like to own a Glock... wouldn't it suck for the gun to go off because you forgot to put on the safety on? :rolleyes:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GLOCK

i dont keep it loaded, its in a locked box in the back area with the rounds in the glovebox. Last time i checked iw wasnt illegal to transport a firearm unloaded, locked, and away from the ammo. I dont listen to rap, and im not a huge fan of the bulky desert eagle. Im applying for my CCW right now, so i want to get something a little easier to carry. Even if i did have a loaded gun in my car, whats it to you? I dont do stupid shit to get my car or my person searched by the cops so im not really too concerned. But theres no need to take the risk, so it stays unloaded and locked in a box with a trigger lock on it.

It really isn't much to me, it's just that if you hear what you're saying to me or to anyone else that has half a brain, you're full of [BS flag] .
So, let's atart here "Last time i checked iw wasnt illegal to transport a firearm unloaded, locked, and away from the ammo." Uh, no it isn't illegal...if you are transporting the firearm. So you go to the range so much that you basically just leave it in your car? That's real bright. That'll look real nice on the incident report if your car gets stolen." A.P.B. on a stolen:
1968 J-Code GT Conv
1987 LX 5.0
1984 GT 5.0
1988 LX
(whatever, the fuck you take your pick). By the way officers, owner reports that there was a locked:
Glock 40 (I didn't no they made a "40")
357 Taurus
(whatever, the fuck you take your pick). Along with ammunition for it in the trunk.

Secondly, "I dont do stupid shit to get my car or my person searched by the cops so im not really too concerned." I guess posting on the internet on a public forum that you "transport" your gun in your car isn't so stupid after all! Funny how all these 5.0 owners get pulled over for "doing nothing at all" all the time. You must be the exception. [Roll Eyes]

Third, "But theres no need to take the risk, so it stays unloaded and locked in a box with a trigger lock on it." So why did you even post that you carry a gun in your car? Let me see, if shit goes south you're gonna call a time out, unlock your gun box, fumble fumble, then unlock the trigger lock, fumble fumble, hold up a sec gotta pop the trunk...fumble fumble, get the ammo, fumble fumble, load the gun, fumble fumble, oops wait a sec dropped a bullet... click click, O.K. time in!
Let me guess when you get the Glock, you won't leave a round chambered. Better yet, the clips( opps, clips/rifles, magazines/pistol) I mean magazines will be away from the ammo which will be separate from the bullet loader (don't wanna hurt your fingers!) So let's see checklist time! 1.Gun in car (triggerlocked in locked case) 2.Magazines (3)in trunk 3.ammo 10+1x3 so 33 rounds (civilian model 10 round mags) behind the fuel door 3. And last but not least the bullet loader (don't wanna hurt your fingers!)cleverly concealed in the engine bay!

Fourth, "Im applying for my CCW right now, so i want to get something a little easier to carry." Good luck! [Roll Eyes] I think there was this Sheriff a couple years ago, some county up north that was issuing out CCWs like water.

C'mon dude whose bullshittin who? [BS flag]

Since CCW's were mentioned...aside from LEO's or CO's you know how difficult it is to actually get approved for a CCW in a county that isn't considered the "boonies"? You would either have to have...

A) a very strong LE or political connection
B) a very good legitimate reason...such as you own your own business that is open at all hours or odd hours, in a bad area. Or somewhere along the lines.

There is a website that shows exactly the figures/statistics of the number of approved CCW's issued by county & state which isn't that high. Links from that site also take you to a site that actually shows the general reasoning of what some people wrote in their application behind needing a CCW and whether or not the city Chief or county Sheriff approved them after a formal interview.

whatever, you have your opinions and i have mine. People that say they get pulled over for no reason are full of bs. I almost never get pulled over, because i don't drive like an ass hole. I Know its next to impossible to get a CCW, but im still trying to apply, since i have the right to. you said "It really isn't much to me" i call [BS flag] on that statement because you just wrote me a freakin essay lol...Im done

P.S.

B) a very good legitimate reason...such as you own your own business that is open at all hours or odd hours, in a bad area. Or somewhere along the lines.

There is a website that shows exactly the figures/statistics of the number of approved CCW's issued by county & state which isn't that high. Links from that site also take you to a site that actually shows the general reasoning of what some people wrote in their application behind needing a CCW and whether or not the city Chief or county Sheriff approved them after a formal interview.

i understand how hard it is, and i will probably be denied. I just mentioned i was applying. I do live in the boonies though lol

Yes, I do know that Glock does make several .40's. I was figuring you meant a model number. Anyway, my point was that "transporting" is seriously just plain stupid! No material possession is worth endangering your life or somebody else's. Oh, and that old saying "Better to be judged by 12 than be carried by 6." is a bunch of B.S.! Because it doesn't stop there...

Unless that is a Airsoft gun, you cannot sell it in CA......registered AW's are no longer transferable in the state, now if you didn't register it in 2000, you don't want to get caught with it.
