Just out of curiosity that's all. I did some calculations on how much I have spent on my car and needless to say its WAY TOO MUCH! Anyway, here's a breakdown of the dough put into my car. Well first of all it didn't cost too much to begin with because I bought it at a charity auction in Redwood City and no one else bid on it. So I won it for the opening bid of $35. Then I had some processing fees and buyer's fees and bidders card fee so the total was $47. I also bought a lot of my parts used so I saved a little money there. Here's the breakdown of the car and parts.
car - $47
new top end gasket kit - $180
exhaust - $200
turbo kit - $800
intercooler - $300
drag radials - $330
wheels - $200
NX kit - $350
Electronics & gauges- $800
I do most of the work myself but I did have some labor charges of around $600 for misc things that I could not do myself. I added everything up and I spent $3807 on my car including the car. Damn that was more than I expected! Well I do have low 500 hp on turbo and 600 on spray. So I guess its not that bad. So how about you all how much have you spent?

Way too much.
I think I spent $5g's on my notch so far and how about $1000 to get it running/looking the way I want.
What car do you get for $50? It surely ain't a moostang.

My mustang i probably have only $4000 into it including buying the car (i've only had it for two months now
)
the jeep:
I paid $3600
lift, flares: $400
33x12.5inch MT/Rs: $900
sound system: $700
new drivers seat: $200
new driveshaft yoke & u joints: $100
so i'm into it about $5500. i know i've done more stuff to it that i'm forgeting though.

i've stop counting after $10,000, one day i got bored one day and tally-up all the recipts i could fine (a crapload) thats with 2 engines 3 trannys, paint, 5 sets of wheels ( i cannot have just one set) 3 exhuast systems, 4 differnet carbs set ups, cost of car was 500.00 off my aunt who bought the car brand new, i've had the car since 1997. i still need to buy a posi for it.....and i've been saying that for the past year!
i figure high 12's if i can hook up at the line....but its all worth it when people give me props, even when its dirty!

ok so you spent $80 total but don't forget that you spent $4000 in riding lessons and you still need the training wheels. The best part was when you took your bike with the training wheels to DMV to try to get your motorcycle license. That look on the DMV reps face was priceless!

last year on my 91 gt sad to say i was already at atleast 12-13,000 and ive done a lot since then. i wish i knew as much about them then as i did now. probably could have saved a lot of money on parts if i didn't buy everything new. oh well thats the price we pay for the fun, and i still say its worth every penny

I agree... although whats funny is even though I may have spent a lot so far, I don't think I've spent enough cause the car isn't where I want it to be yet.

I had to chime in on this one ..... funny thread but anyway i have 24k $$$ invested in the drivetrain not including the car base price i paid or the rest so you can figure theres quite a bit of dough and im really not even done the car is only 90% restored... its an on going process.

yeah I know what you all mean by spending a lot of mods. Hell my mods cost WAY more than what I bought the car for. Now that added it up I see that my mods cost me 81 times more than my car! Damn!
