If you are purchasing liability only it doesn't matter what engine you have.
If your are purchasing full coverage then they will treat the vin# as is. You could try to provide copies of proof of the engine swap but other then that it will be treated as a 4cyl.
P.S. I work in insurance.

my little four banger has liability only.. so i pay liability for a 4 cyl . i guess if something ever happens i'll be fucked although if the damage is not major i'll hopefully be able to swap parts again. the way i see it is, i barely drive the car.. usually around the block once a week so it doesn't collect spider webs and to the track, so full insurance is not needed.

BRO you get what you pay for. If you beat the system and insure it as a 4 cylinder then i bet you they will pay you like a four cylinder if something happens to it.
