Do you think I should modify my harley truck? I know they are dialed in pretty tight and mods can throw the computer off easily with this truck.... But if I had it tuned properly, should I have fun with this one? Its already got some good torque, and is really nice in general....

id say jus intake and full exhaust..maybe a pully..s/c 1 rite?

is this a trick question?

It's a nice truck. What do you want to do with it?
Posted by Avengeance (Member # 5163) on

I would... a factory blown engine is just too damn tempting not to, ya know?
Id do the basics... intake, headers, exhaust, pulley, and tune.

The question is why not?

Of course its the supercharged one, lol. It also has the optional 3.73's in the rear for good torque multiplication. I feel the factory blower is too restricting at just 7 lbs. of boost. It hauls ass already, but I think my harley truck should be a little faster. I will at least pulley it after my warranty is up, if not swap to a whipple charger. That is unless Procharger makes a custom centrifugal kit (anyone know?). That would be sweet. The exhaust is first on the list for me to bolt up, but costs a pretty penny for this truck. I'm going with the kit that has the pipes coming out both sides (instead of just the passenger side). I have to be careful because of the factory tune because any mods can throw it off, and run like shit. Who tunes these trucks around here?

NO, LEAVE IT STOCK (:

Well, I'm at least doing the exhaust before my warranty is up. That won't void it, I already checked. Exhaust I can always swap back to stock if I decide not to modify or re-sell. Maybe I should just stick to modifying my mustangs.

what kind of exhuast are you going with?
Posted by MODMOTORZ (Member # 5954) on
:
i think it was borla that made that exhaust. My truck already claims to have a high performance muffler and tips (window sticker), but that's a joke. i don't know if im going with that kit in particular, i want to save a little and research my options.

i used to own a gen 2 lightning, and it had full bassani exhuast. I love the sound of bassani
borla sounds good too

im sure there is a website that has sound clips of each system setup on the truck. i know they have one dedicated to mustangs (read about it in MM&FF a while back). Really cool idea.

All the guys that have switched to a custom procharger or vortech kit end up making less hp and way less torque with comparable boost to a KB..Good luck trying to get a whipple

i should probably just finish the mustang first.... then maybe mod the truck. The mustang is a given.

Do the mustang first at the same time throw some exhuast on the truck

There's no reason you shouldn't modify it.
I'd start off with a 6lb lower, a SCT or Diablo Tuner, and a good catback kit.
With that said, my HD just laid down 668 rwhp at Mustang Ranch in Santa Clara.

Yea with a Turbo, you wont see that with a 6 pound lower pully.
If you want to mod your truck do a CAI, throttle body, 6 pound lower pulley and get it tuned. Don't forget lowering springs. Alot of the stuff under my hood was custom but if you go to the site I provided there is a company called chickners, he has alot of dress up goodies for the HD. If you post on there just ask where everyone got there bling.

Yep, didn't mean to imply that a 6lb lower pulley, tuner, and airbox would give that power. There's about 30-40 rwhp with that combo mentioned.

The 6lb lower is playing on borrowed time in my opinion..
