First of all, I would like to profoundly thank RPM Automotive Services for the patience and diligent work they did today. I've been to numerous shops, dyno places etc and this place is by FAR the one that's treated me the best.. they have a very knowledgeable staff. I talked to a couple of their employees and they advised e how to proceed for future combos etc etc.
Anyhow.. getting back to my topic., Numbers.... right off the freeway i got a 270 rwhp and 262 rwtq. the car was having issues pulling passed 4k. Brad and Martin checked all the mechanical components and after some deliberation and fine tuning i got a 273 rwhp and 286 rwtq. torque went way up(289 on one of the runs)
.. and gained more than 20 hp through the midrange
.
Pretty happy with the numbers.. i think the cam is keeping me from making power because no matter what they tried the car would start losing power at 5.5k rpm.
what do u guys think could be causing this?
Anyhow.. we tried the 80 shot and the car was running lean.. so we changed the fuel jet to the one for 125 and the car run a bit rich. pretty much a a/f mix of 12 going across the board.
I decided to keep it there and sacrifice hp for safety.. it made 333 rwhp and 331 rwtq.
didn't have the guts to try the 125 shot..
I will in the future.. but i just want to do the best i can with the numbers i have.
Once again, thanks to RPM for the great service and their diligence for putting up with dozens of repetitive questions
.

where is RPM at,
how much did they charge you,
how many times did they run the car on the dyno?
you gained 20 hp in the midrange, was it chipped or just timming/fuel pressure ajustments?
sorry for all the q`s,just thinking about doing that to my car.

RPM Automotive Services is located in Rohnert PArk 707-584-8230 (about 10 minutes south of infineon raceway) well worth the drive and $$ if you ask me. one of those hidden treasures that not a lot of people know about.. they been in business for a looong time and have tuned hundreds if not thousands of cars.
they do it all, i was just in the Dyno section of their shop, but after a little tour i realized how big they really are.. they do all types of maintenance work , performance modifications and engine building.
I guess the price will be different for eveyrone depending on whether you have a chip already and just need a tune or whether you need both. I would give them a call.
They ran the car in the dyno. i lost count, over ten times easily.
He got the correct air/fuel ration on his first try though. after that it was all a matter of adjusting the timing, fuel etc, etc.

BLind, i don't even know. i purchased this exhaust system a long ass time ago.. it's a used bassani x pipe and flowmaster catback.. from what I've heard from everyone (muffler shops, friends)is that the catback was improperly welded together. if i have it sitting in the appropriate place then it will hit the frame and rattle. Since don't care about looks. i just had them put it where it would not rattle.
Edit: i just remembered that the guy that sold me this said that the catback was welded for a gt. ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

oh it was probably bent up for a gt to have the pipes hang under the gt bumper, that would explain it

Post your dyno graph. It would be interestin to see the curve. Is that a Street Heat or Track Heat intake?
The intake could be limiting the power band.
Nice car and nice numbers
Posted by Jmir018 (Member # 1414) on
:
it's a track heat.. i don't have the dynograph or i would have posted it..
Being the genious that i am.. i requested a floppy disk forgeting i don't have a floppy drive at home.
i'll try posting them on monday.

Anyone interested in a tune, chip, or just duno runs feel free to give Brad at RPM a call, (707) 584-8230. Let him know you heard about RPM from this site, me, or Jersey and I assure you he will take good care of you.
Goodluck on your test Jersey ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)
