Get a Ready to Run Gas powered. I got mine at HobbyTown it was $300 out the door with everything and its Fast. It's a Team Associated RC10GT. My cousin got his from HobbyTown also and its a two speed and its very fast, its JATO gas powered and it was also a ready to run. He paid a little mor for it then I did not sure how much though.

I heard there's a hobby shop right under the overpass next to Vallejo Wal Mart. Have you checked that place out?

checkout www.towerhobbies.com

or www.ultimatehobbies.com

for a beginner, something made by Traxxas, HPI, or Associated in a RTR (ready to run) config would be best.

if you want a monster truck, get a HPI Savage 25 RTR, if you want a 4wd nitro sedan, get an I'd recommend the Associated over the HPI for sedans). If you want something smaller than a monster truck but something that can still go basically anywhere the HPI RS4MT Nitro is pretty cool, and Traxxas makes a 2wd nitro stadium truck called the Jato that runs damn near 60mph out of the box....not the best thing for a beginner though so I'd get something slower until you know how to drive it [Wink]

My T-Maxx w/.21 conversion and an ofna .26 engine. I also have an RC 10 GT.

If I were to buy another truck my first overall pick would be the RC 10. Great price, lightweight, fast, and didn't break much.

As for monster trucks I love the new T-maxx's I've converted mine from the 1.5 then to 2.5 then the .21 big block conversion. I would rather buy a new one next time alot of bang right out of the box.

I believe its under the new overpass across the street from the Vallejo Waste Center. It's not in the same shopping center, its pretty much by itself next to the Caltrans storage center.

If you drive past it you'll see a big TAMIYA banner on the fence next to it.

I just bought revo last year andthey are pretty damn cool, im not too happy with the ez start system but whatever. But if i were to do it all again, id go with the new savage. I have tried losi traxxas and the savage and i gotta say the savage was by far the best. Not the fastest but sturdy, and so many parts for it its crazy.

T maxx here also. Have replaced the motor 3 times. Currently have the Sirio Small block 21. Runs Awesome! Also have the robinson racing forward only conversion, upgraded disc brake, upgraded servos( high speed and heavy duty), and Unlimited engeneering axle shafts. Wheelies on the street and all. Lots of fun to drive around. I have found that if you are looking for replacement parts. Its a great Idea to go on Ebay and buy complete assemblies. For me its been a lifesaver. I bought a complete front end assembly off ebay for about $45.00.
