OK.... and the point to this project is? Why dont they just build a camaro? I dont really see the point other than they dont want to work on a car with the engine 2/3s of the way covered by a cowl. [Confused]

That is true, I just helped my friend put his 396 stroker LT1 is his 95 Z28. What a bitch! Lift the car up and wheel everything out from underneath??

Nah, my friend will even admit that everything is a bitch on his car, and he is an ASE master tech. Plus parts are expesive for them. He did run a 12.25 @117mph with street tires, stock suspension, and stock gears with a mail order tune. I like the car, but would not want one.

could have just dropped a 351 in a 94-95 without any mods

an ls-1 is a way more efficient engine than a 351 and has the potential to be more powerful..just my thoughts

You have just as much potential with a 351 as you do with any SBC. I love Fords and Mustangs but am a crew cheif on a Camaro circle track car. I have built a few 350's and 400's. While the Chevy motors are cheaper to make HP with, it can still be done with a Ford and with aftermarket support its slowly working its way down in cost.

Crazy path but whatever floats his boat.

A turbo/big blower combo would have made him just as happy with much less work.

a 351 can do just as much as an LS1, if not more
