Hey all. I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope everyone has a day filled with joy and is surrounded by people you love and care about. I know that I am....
As some of you know, I'm a firefighter here in the bay. I'm at work writing this now. Well, one of our own was involved in a horrible, head-on collision this morning while on the way to my station to relieve a crew member. We were waiting and he never showed . As it turns out our own West County crews arrived to find him trapped in his mangled car after he was struck by a young girl in a Mustang, speeding, losing control, and crossing over the double yellow on San Pablo Dam Rd near the resovoir. Both victims were taken to John Muir Med Center after extrication. Both are in surgery as I write this. So if you all would say alittle prayer for him and the girl, I, we'd, all appreciate it. This gentleman has been a fixture with us for many years, is well respected, and has awesome children. Merry Christmas, again, to all of you.
edit: ps. Everybody be extra safe this holiday season, please. We all feel invincible sometimes(including myself), but lets keep the speeding, etc to a minimum and DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!! Cya'll next year
Rick

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope your partner makes it through. People need to pay more attention to what they are doing on the road.

On behalf of our brotherhood and Greg's family, I'd like to extend a big THANX to all of you for your thoughts, words, and prayers extended towards my wounded colleague.
Greg was taken to surgery where after nearly 5 hours it was discovered that he had 2 broken arms, leg, ribs, clavicle, a punctured lung and a concussion to boot. Although, his injuries are significant, he is expected to make a full recovery over the next year. The young woman is expected to make a full recovery also This was a big relief to all of us and a true blessing for his family and the girl's as well. Again, thanx again from the bottom of my, our, hearts. Merry Christmas and have a safe and Happy New year.
