I heard on a review this morning that it isn't really a action flick, more of a character study. Just a heads up if your going to see it expecting tons of action.

Book sucked but I'm biased against that P.O.S Swofford. Talks a lot of shit. I don't agree with a lot of his idiology and I think he is full of shit in a lot of what he wrote. I know for sure he took rumors which were going around in the USMC during that time and made them his own facts. I know this because I was in at the same time and heared the same rumors. I think Kanya West is an idiot and i've never liked any of his songs but the trailer goes well with his song.
I am going to go see this tomorrow night hopefully.

What a country we live in, where a black public figure (cause I would hardly call him an artist) can say racist comments about our countries President, on national TV, and during one of our countries most devastating storms, and get one of his “songs” to be played on a movie that has commercials all over the USA, and I’m sure a lot of foreign countries as well. Just imagine if Mike Myers, or any other white American, had said a racist comment to the same effect as Kanye………

I'm in NO WAY defending kanye, hell they dont even play his song until the end, but that movie was out of post production about 4-5 months ago... they would have lost alot of money delaying it.

with that said... Kanye sucks... his remarks were WAY out of line.

Wow im pretty dissapointed it was a cool movie, but where is the action. This movie lacked the gun shooting/killing action that the commercials show. I read a movie review that said this is the new full metal jacket and I seriously wondered if they even watched the movie.

Saw it opening night and even though the movie was pretty good it is NOTHING like they try to make it look in the previews.

As for being the new full metal jacket!? HAHAHAH maybe for about 10 min. Just because they recite "this is my rifle" a couple time doesn't mean this is the new full metal jacket. CMONE!

And as for Fox? Short part = good acting for that clown. HAHAHAHAHAH. He did good I guess. You can't just throw him into that kind of character so leaving his roll being big yet the acting small made for a good introduction for him playing more serious rolls.

Movie over-all = 7 out of 10 for me.

I saw it. Brought back a lot of own memories. Movie was a lot different that I thought it would be. Hated the book but movie was not bad.

Saw it Saturday and it brought back memories of my time in Iraq and the endless games we played and the boredom that we had at times. Good movie overall with a bit of exageration. [patriot]

Saw the movie today....I thought it was a really good movie, as far as the way it was shot and layed out. Most of the actors did a good job and it was overall entertaining. I also liked the fact that it touched on dealing with family members back home while you are away at war. I mean the movie touched lightly on a alot of things and presented alot of different perspectives.
