Hey everyone, some asshole just recently sent me some sort of computer virus through AIM. It's completely messing up my laptop by automatically turning off my firewall, downloading a bunch of crap (spyware, porn, etc), and lagging which sometimes leads to freezing up. I was wondering if any of you guys knew of a really good anti-virus program I can run to get rid of this virus and where I can get it. Any sort of tips or program recommendations would be greatly appreciated because I need my laptop in 100% working order for college. Thanks.

I agree, I used to sell them myself when I was a PC tech (before the usaf) and Ive personally used all of them... and I got a worm that all of those completely missed, except for norton... which said -something- might be wrong.

I installed anti-vir and havent had a problem since... and the fact that it includes a registry protector for the lofty price of $0.00 [patriot]

Someone sent me a link through AIM and I clicked on the link. As soon as I clicked on the link, it automatically downloaded the virus and screwed up my laptop. The person who sent me the link asked me to "check out their cool photo album" and there was a link that seemed legit. So watch out for that stuff.
