I had AT&T and it was great. Ever since they changed to Cingular I have the worst possible service. Who are good and who should I stay away from?

weird. when my cirglar acquired At&t, my service got way better. id say if your unhappy, check out verizon....

Tough to say...it depends a lot on what works good where you need it to work. Verizon might be the best for 1 person, but work horrible for you....and the same with other carriers. Check out our personal coverage check http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/?class=coverage , which gives a pretty good representation of the service you might get in certain areas. Sieman SL56 slider to Nokia 3650 my service got better.

Nextel is the clearest cell phone I have heard in terms of sound quality.

It all depends where you live and your coverage area.

I haven't heard anyone say that they are totally happy with their service from any provider. They all sux in their own way.

I have Cingular and I am reasonably happy. Sometimes my calls get dropped though [Mad]

i also have the sony erricson 710a, and it's the best phone i ever had, and i have gone through a lot of phones.

Just Kidding they are the same company now.I have NEVER had any reception issues with Sprint.
ANd their plans are killer too.

i have sprint. the service is good and their phones are cute, they gave me a phone that has a polar bear that rolls around across the screen [Whoo Whooooo!]

but yeah...i like sprint a lot and have no regrets [patriot]

Nextel sucks outside of major cities. If I go to the bay I have no issues clear recepetion. In Sac I am lucky to even get signal or calls. I get more voicemails then I do calls.

Don't ever get nextel. whenever i try calling one of my friends who's got it, they are always out of reach or the things is always trying to locate them and sends me to their voicemail.
I have verizon and i love it. no drop calls, great reception, etc etc. [Big Grin]
verizon's phones sucks though.. [Mad]

no one has mentioned it yet but go down and get a few services, by LAW you have 14 days to return the phone (in like new condition) and cancel the contract. so pick a few up and decide what you like best then return the others. like what other people are saying 1 service might be great for me but suck for you. so try them all!

I have worked for Verizon for 6 years and I have to admit, though our service is the best in the nation, we are the last company to get the best phones. But check out our new lineup for the holiday season. There are some cool phones on the way. If any of you need to sign up with Verizon in or around San Francisco, give me a call.

yea the whole cingular at&t thing depends on what kind of service u had whether it be the TDMA or the GSM cause cingular bought out ATT and they use a gsm service where att had both yet there TDMA was htere main service and thus why there service was so good... SINCE they got bought out cingular is switching all those TDMA towers over to GSM and thats why your service is getting worst... if u were to come in and get a cingular gsm phone you will notice the service is WAY fuckin better... like they said above me a few posts you have a trial period and if its not working out for u then take that shit back.. BUT WITH CINGULAR I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS LIKE I HAD WITH SPRINT OR VERIZON AS FAR AS DROPPED CALLS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE GO... WE ALSO HAVE TIGHT ASS PHONES... MINE HAS A BUILT IN MP3 PLAYER WITH expandable memory so my shit holds 250 full length songs on my phone and i can use those as RINGTONES too....LOL.... but yea CINGULAR is tight.. i got a hook up too LMK IF you need anything
