Its for a job.......,pls help a.s.a.p, i really need you guys!!! heres the question

When the piston reaches the bottom of its stroke, also known as bottom dead center (BDC), the intake valve closes and the piston is then forced upward by the crankshaft. As the piston rises to the top of its stroke, also known as top dead center (TDC), the density of the air-fuel mixture is increased. This second stroke is called the __________ stroke.

Answer Choices:

compression
power
exhaust
intake ?????WHich one?

compression! [patriot] good luck on your test!

Compression stroke,it compresses the fuel and air together. Right after that the spark plug fires and the explosion forces the piston back down, thats the power stroke. The exhuast stroke is when the piston is coming back up from the crank after firing, forces the exhuast out the valve. Then as it goes back down it sucks in the fuel/air and then does a compression stroke again.

ok, heres another one.... thank camaro!!!!!!!i hellah appreciate your help, i failed this and im not failing it again......

When the piston reaches top dead center on the second stroke, the spark plug ignites the air-fuel mixture as both the intake and exhaust valves remain closed. This explosion forces the piston down under tremendous pressure. This third stroke is called the __________ stroke.

compression
power
exhaust
intake

Power stroke.
Read my post after Camaros.

thanks cobrajeep!!!!!!! [patriot] thanks alot guys i have a few more like this one....

During a cylinder leakage test, bubbles are seen in the radiator coolant. This would MOST LIKELY indicate that the __________.

intake manifold gasket is bad.
head gasket is blown.
air pressure is too great.
vacuum modulator is bad. ???????

????

During a cylinder leakage test air is heard escaping from the spark plug hole next to the one being tested. This would indicate that the __________.

valves are bad on both cylinders.?

air pressure from the leakage test has pushed the piston down causing the valves to open.?

head gasket is blown between the two cylinders.?

intake manifold gasket is blown between the two cylinders. ?

just think about the construction of the cylinder when it is completly closed off from everything else, and where the air is going tells you what is wrong (in most cases)
out the intake = intake valve
out the exuast = exhaust valve
bubles in the coolent = head gasket
in the next cylinder = head gasket
in the crank case = rings or piston

these don't mean it's 100% that all the time, but if a cylinder is 100% leakdown you'll be pulling the head to inspect anyways

One the stroke questiond just remember these four in order:

Intake, Compression, Combustion, Exhaust

OR for guys who don't like that:

Suck, Squish, Bang, Blow!

[Cool]

You failed the first time for a reason. Coming to this site to get the answers to the questions you already failed just means you are not prepared a second time. It sounds like the level of expertise you have now (or lack thereof), you are a perfect candidate to work at Pep Boys considering they don't know what they are doing anyways [Big Grin]
