My 88 white coupe, black trim, black rims was stolen from College of San Mateo tonight. Sometime between 6:20 and 9:20. License is 4RBS005. If anyone sees it let me know. It was a great car and is now probably being raped over in Richmond. Fvcking thiefs [Mad]

Corksocking, mutherforking, ashhole thieves. I hope you get it back better than my Acura.
The worst part of it was I got a parking ticket from the stupid ass Oakland police. Yeah, I parked the shell of my car in the red zone.

Damn dude, sorry that happened. My first 93 Cobra was stolen there too, during my morning classes. Wish you luck, but chances are SLIM. [Frown]

I am so tired of people getting their Stangs stolen! This completely sucks! I am working on a solution to prevent some of these cars from getting stolen. We are working with Lojack to see if we can get a great deal for our customers so they can recover their vehicles. Lojack has a average recovery time of less than 24 hours for cars equiped with their system.

Lojack has a Money-back guarantee with a 24-hour Recovery Warranty and a 90% recovery rate.

Damn... your guys Stangs are stolen all the damn time! [Mad]

I work for United Rentals here in Sacramento... we are a lojack dealer. We use it on our heavy equipment, big dollar stuff.

When I get a chance Ill look into a group purchase price. Hopefully its possible for me to do something like a GP, Ill give our rep a call when I have some time.

*edit*

Not trying to steal APEXs thunder... and Im not looking to make any money on this stuff. Since we are the largest rental company in the US we get really good discounts from our vendors. Ill see what I can do.

Funny this topic is brought up, but someone tried to steel my 88 the other night. I know it is a pain, but I things like disconnect the starter solenoid or the battery terminal. Plus I have a real good alarm.

Maybe folks can share some of their theft deterrant tips. My friend has one of those removeable steering wheels.

Yes lojack is great if the county that your car was stolen in is a subscriber. The cop station has to be a subscriber of the lo jack system is what ive been told. I also was told that they do not give you the address of your car but yet the police department.

I really don't think posting personal theft deterants in public is the best idea. No matter how well intentioned they are.

exactly what I was just about to say.Dont make it public info otherwise its pointless to do it and ghetto fukking thieves will know what your doing to disable it.

So I shouldn't talk about my time delay fuse in the gas tank? Only downside is that I REALLY have to remember to turn it off when I want to drive it, though.

Thanks for the kind replys everyone. This is the first car that's ever been stolen from me. It's a pretty crappy feeling. I used to do stuff like disconnect the coil wire, battery terminal. But this car was my daily driver, and I guess I got a little complacent. The next mustang I have will not be so easy to steal.

It's that clamp that they put around your rim when you get to many parking tickets.

Thus is true. And typically when a city is a subscriber, they only install the scanner on 2 maybe 3 vehicles in the force. Best anti-theft is a GPS based system, that as soon as its lifted, you can call in, and have real time tracking of the car. IE; like OnStar* on Gm vehicles.

I think Lojack is good. However, they only guarentee that your car will be recovered 24 hours after it is "reported" stolen. So, let's say that your car is taken at midnight and you wake up at 8am and find it gone. It could be up to 32 hours before it is recovered. This is more than enough time for any decent thief to strip the car and dump it somewhere.

Sure it will be recovered, but you won't have much of a car left.

I always thought a good combination would be lojack with an alarm that has a pager. If the alarm goes off you will be paged and have a chance of stopping the thieves from stealing your car. If you don't stop them then at least you can report the car stolen then and there and have a better chance of catching them before they finish stipping the thing. Of course if they disable the alarm before it pages you (if this is possible) then you're still fucked.

The biggest downside to this whole thing is you end up spending $600-$800 on security shit w/ no guarentee's that your car won't be stolen. [Mad]

Does anyone have a pager alarm? How do they work?

by the time they would go through the leg work to do that, they would have some nice .357 bullets in their forehead!!!!

Yeah, got this on the 03 (Guide Point Systems), got Lojack on the 01... and got the 89 in the fucking garage - and take the beater truck to places where I gotta leave it unattended in public. I learned my lesson - thieves will rip anything.

The first year I subscribed to the Guide Point deal, and could tack my car from my home computer. Pretty cool stuff - I could tell where it was, where it was heading, and what the speed of the vehicle was. That stuff is the shit.

they are just that deterrant tips... not theft proofing devices... if a thief wants your car that bad, they can find a way. I used to work with aguy many years ago in WA that used to steal stereos and cars... he had some crazy stories for getting around all the alarms and the like.

It sucks your stang was stolen man, Hopefully you will get it back, or at least be compensated well enough [Frown]
