What's a good brand for aftermarket hood that you won't need hood pins for I'm looking for a cobra r hood for my 01 but some hoods they recommend hood pins. Is it cause they will lift off or what's the deal?

Hood pins are absolutely necessary with any type of after market hood. The stock latch doesn't always catch on aftermarket hoods and then your hood flies up and your fucked. Even if the latch does catch it can still fly up.

Hanks guys I'll check them out. I'm not a big fan of hood pins since in my 1 of my previous 5.0s my hood flew up but I guess I'll go with them

heres the deal
you ALWAYS wanna use hood pins on a 'glas hood, because you shouldnt trust the hood latch. i know more than 1 person that cost them a windshield and a second hood cuz it let loose at high speed
secondly...there are 3 brands you should even consider
1) cervini 2) HO fibertrends 3) harwood
on a 5.0 hood the HO hood doesnt have the sides, so you can kind of see into the engine bay
i prefer cervini, but those 3 will be flat and wont cost you $300 in body work to make look good if your closer than 20 feet
ALL THE REST ARE JUNK !!!!! they will be wavy, and fit for crap
i apologize to anybody who has one.... but its the truth
ABC exclusive or anybody else that sells a 'glas hood for $299 will send you garbage...you might as well try making one yourself
