Looking at that 24 hour fitness thread made me wonder...
what do y'all do for your workout? cause all I even did was run on the treadmill for like 30 min and then mess around on the machines
I don't really care about my legs that much, I mostly wanna lose fat and do chest and arms
if anybody can post what exercises to do (like bench X amount for Y min.) with reps and all that stuff that would rock, just looking for a good starting point

Shit I'm still stuck at benching 170 and I weigh 165. So I could use some tips as well!

I like to mix it up a bit some weeks are heavy sets and some are triple to double sets with less weight to keep my muscles guessing. I usually do at least 30 min of cardio at the end of my workouts. I am going to go back to running like my Marine Corps days and lean up pretty soon for summer.

First question you want to ask yourself, do I want to bulk up or do I want to lean down? This is important because the workout for each one is totally different with each other.
Bulking/Mass: Less reps - Heavier weights Cutting/Leaning: Lots of reps - Lighter weights
I'm on a constant pull for Mass producing workout so I do alot of heavier weights which requires about 6/8 reps only per set and about 3/4 sets. Sometimes 4/6 reps per set if I go really heavy. Once I reach the mass I want, I will just then change my routine with lighter weights and more reps and ad cardio with my workout.
Ask yourself what your goal is. Alot of people on here are just going to tell you what is good based on what they are doing but not really based on what your goal is. Set your own goals and follow through.

Interesting...
I'm looking to get lean in my upper body. Thats were most my weight is. I just broke up w/ my GF so I have alot of time on my hands
I've never been a gym rat, but I used to be an avid basketball player. Now I just want to slim down alot on my upper body since my legs have always been pretty strong. I have alot of extra time on my hands so I dont mind running or hitting the gym 3 times a week now, or even cutting out the junkfood.
What do you suggest for a 3 day/wk workout to get lean?
As far as eating I usually eat only once a day as time permits. I'm not really a breakfast person, infact the thought of eating in the morning makes me nautious, I dont know why? My main meal of the day is lunch and hardly ever eat dinner.
Any suggestions or routines would be appreciated.
Thanks

Well one thing you will have to adjust is eating right. One meal per-day probably wont cut it unless you have a really good multi-vitamin. Eating is my weak point too, I actually dont wat alot. And for lean muscle I would focus on lower weight, higher reps and less rest between sets. But what I have found with me is that because of the amount of hoop I play, I can lift heavy and not get too bulky. Although I still cant seem to break the benching 350 threshold.
I am also searching for the appropriate supplement stack, which is important as well. but that depends on your dedication level. you can do it without supplements.
Good luck man.

pretty much what he said, im drinking too much recently and its showing around the middle, im looking to slim down in the mid section and make my arms bigger, don't care about my legs since I never wear shorts, I would like to have bigger forearms and whatever the side muscles (not biceps?) are called on your upper arms
as you may be able to tell I dont know what lifts to do, i took a class in HS but that was 4 years ago

If you guys work your legs you can get bigger, Squats, deadlifts and clean and presses make your body produce more testoserone and therefore your body gets bigger quicker. If your going to workout but not workout your legs you better be patient because you won't see results for a while.
Also wearing pants won't hide that you don't work your legs, people will still be able to tell. [ February 23, 2007, 09:48 AM: Message edited by: 1968_Fastback ]
