I have never used the MPC 1000, but I use an MPC2000XL. I assume the 1000 has 1/4" inputs that u can plug into right? To sample from an external CD player, u can just plug directy into the back & sample away. For turntables, u will need some sort of DJ mixer with phono inputs because records send a different type of signal that would need to be converted through the mixer then out to the MPC. I run my turntables into a Numark DJ mixer, then from the outputs on my mixer to the inputs on my MPC...Its as simple as that....
I will tell u what though, the art of sampling will take u into another realm. Its an artform & is hard to do right. I never take just a loop, I chop everything into bits & pieces. U can truely sample off of any & all types of music, sounds, genres, & even different types of mediums. I have even sampled directly from VHS tapes, random foreign records, DVD's, nature sounds, u name it.....
Good luck ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif) [ January 12, 2009, 12:23 AM: Message edited by: EPIK ]
