Final tally on the project:
Project started: wednesday January 14th 2009
Project completed: saturday May 2nd, 2009
Prices: - used shortblock with rod knock: $75 - Cobra crank: $120 - Machine work for block and crank: $340 - MMR rods: $400 - Diamond pistons: $650 - Gaskets and bearings: $200
total: $1785
Thanks to Performance Engines in Carmichael for their excellent work in machining, to my buddies Mike, Chad and Terrance for the hard work and foul language they provided in getting the new motor in and to AED for letting me pick their brains on a few issues I got hung up on! Now it's time to break it in and get to the dyno!

Congrats on getting her up and running Matt! But, I think some of your pricing is a little off.
It should look something like this;
Prices: - used shortblock with rod knock: $75 - Cobra crank: $120 - Machine work for block and crank: $340 - MMR rods: $400 - Diamond pistons: $650 - Gaskets and bearings: $200
-AED not letting you F up your entire build by screwing up on your piston ring end gaps, PRICELESS!!!!
