im about to go F***in postal [Mad]
since about 6 PM i have my internet going in and out. I play xbox live so this is fu**in pissing me off.
I thought it was just my xbox, except neither my laptop or my pops work laptop were connceting at a pace faster than dog shi*, if even at all!

I went through all the paces to try and fix, d/c router, modem etc etc etc. Went and called ATT support and was on the phone for 45 mins [Embarrassed] even connecting the ethernet cable directly to my laptop and disconnecting the wireless system all together did nothing.
They said nothing is wrong, they "accessed" (sp?) my modem said its ok. reset whatever, went through their paces. Got off the phone and my internet worked for like 5 mins.
It loads the background color of a page or nothing at all and lags out into the error message.

Was never able to reconnect to xbox, yahoo messenger loaded then d/c'd like 10 times in 4 mins. Im only able to load cafords as funny as that is. No myspace, corral, google, cnn, youtube NOTHING.

WHAT THE FU@K [Mad] [BS flag] [Mad]

*edit* im surprised i was able to post this, yet i STILL cant go to any other sites????? [Confused]

If you have Cable Interent, It could be a faulty splitter. It could also be a bad cable. I work for comcast and that sounds like a common problem I deal with.

Open Internet Explorer then type

192.168.100.1

Click Signal

tell me all the specs on anything that says DBMV

exaple... 50dBmv or -8dmv

Alot of times they disable those commands on the modem. At least mine are and everyone I have tried to help theirs are too.

I dunno, almost seems like you have some kind of proxy issue. If you can access internet but only certain sites and certain service cannot. Like IM. Have you tried releasing and renewing all your IP's? You can do that in the command prompt.

Sorry that is all I can offer I am a programmer and networking is my weak suit. But I know just enough to get by.

GL - leave the pr0n alone and maybe you wont have issues anymore...lol.

by the sounds of it he has DSL not comcast. do you have a firewall like zonealarm or something? that program f*cked my up connections exactly how your describing...if you do have a firewall...try disabling temporarily to see if thats the problem. other than that...you might have have a virus or spyware thats affecting your connection.

Whoa i missed this thread haha

Have you checked if you have DSL/phone filters on your phone lines?

Checked your ethernet cable? Perhaps a bad ethernet cable? Bad phone line connection TO YOUR modem?

Easiest way to test is by hooking the dsl modem up to another JACK in the house and running the ethernet str8 to your laptop and see how connection differs.

Try those..
