so, a friend of mine had her purse and cellphone stolen. We both have Cingular. She didn't have insurance. She went to the store and was told that she would have to buy a brand new phone and they pay full price. Even base models are over 100 She's going through a really difficult time now and does not want to/cannot afford to buy one at full price. If i give her mine and declare it lost (i do have insurance) will she be able to activate it?
otherwise i'll just buy her a phone, but i still do not wish to spend money like that.
Does anyone have an old cingular phone they wanna sell? thanks.

if used in the same network u should be able to remove your sim card and transfer hers into your phone. it will work. now if you plan on using a different carrier phone you'll need to unlock it before transfering the sim.(i.e using a tmobile phone w/ a cingular sim). it also needs to be the same type of network...cdma, gsm, etc.

I just upgraded my Cingular phone. You can have my old phone for a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada. It's a very basic flip phone (Nokia I think, dunno what model) w/ no camera. It does have some wear and tear but it works fine. I have the charger for it but you will need a SIM card.
PM me if you are interested.
