<<No secret at all. It's a stroked 418 Windsor. Here's all the details and goodies...
425 cubes total with a .060 overbore. Forged Ross pistons with coated skirts, H-beam rods, Forged crank, studded main with girdle. Custom grind retrofit roller .600" lift cam.
With Avenger 225 CNC heads it should produce over 600 horsepower and 575-ish torque.
...Now I just need to find a trans that can handle all that torque! lol [ August 10, 2011, 04:24 AM: Message edited by: bwkelley76 ]

Grill, signals, and high beams are all done. This is not a show car but fit and finish doesn't get much better than this. I'm definitely proud!

<<Thanks 940! Awesome to see my car has some dedicated followers. This car has been a journey so far. every time I "settle" for something a better idea or deal comes along and I just run with it. The motor is a great example of that, as-is the paint. I was just going to run the stock used Windsor and paint the car a solid boring color and now this! lol I wonder what the heck is going to transpire with the interior, suspension and chassis on this thing. I have a ton of ideas rolling around in my head. [ August 17, 2011, 02:07 AM: Message edited by: bwkelley76 ]

Hello everyone! I haven't been working on the car much, life's been busy with school and work, and the new job, etc. Hope everyone is doing well. More to come as soon as things calm down a bit. I'm hoping to get back on it here in the next month or so.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! ...I recently tried installing the front bumper and the "so-called" Shelby brackets are nowhere close to fitting. After hours of grinding and cutting, they are closer, but I still need to elongate the holes quite a bit for more adjustment.

It should have been done a while ago. I ran into a few snags with time versus school, and most of all, money. I have a few things left to do in order to have a "running" engine, some minor assembly and external accessories, etc. (rockers, pushrods, lifters, timing cover, intake, carb, distributor, etc. I still need to detail the underside of the car and the engine bay, install new axle bearings in the 9" rear before I install that, front suspension needs some upgrades, disk brakes, etc, subframe connectors need welded up, transmission, custom driveshaft, then the interior needs done. I still have PLENTY left before she's all done.
